If it wasn't for Jim and Mick, as a guitarist, I wouldn't care about Slipknot news, because same shit, different day, with a slightly bigger splash of mediocrity every time as far as Slipknot releases go. All Hope is Gone is the last good album they had, with Gray Chapter being the last decent one. I'm dying on that hill, and to some, this is probably being generous. I don't buy anything the band says anymore, especially the heavy lie we get every time. I'm waiting for that one lol. All the "Iowa levels of heavy" comments have me rolling rn

Hmmm….at the very least, it does sound interesting. Especially with Jim's comment about Pink Floyd…that intrigued me, I love Pink Floyd. š¤…based on all their albums after Subliminal Verses though, I'm not getting my hopes up..
ESPECIALLY with this particular producer. šµāš«…I'll still check it out with an open mind. Honestly though, it's been years now since I've really listened to any bands similar to Slipknot. I've found my absolute favorite type of Metal in Deathcore.

Like a lot of metal bands I like – I listen less and less to their new releases as time goes on as they tend to either get much milder in sound or change completely as in BMTH or Architects. Slipknot are an amazing band but in my opinion have not done anything truly stand out since Vol 3. I did think their 25th Anniversary shows were amazing and shows they can still do the raw stuff. A band who have always been fairly progressive with album releases is Kill-switch Engage. It must be really hard to keep coming up with original and fresh material and obviously bands get older so is hard to maintain that ferocity and the screams etcā¦.be interesting to see if Alex Terrible is still screaming at 50

I really hope it doesn't have that typical 2010-2020ish type of soft pop snare sound like "heavy" bands tend to have these days.
I also hope it's not super polished and super hi-fi produced to make it stand out and make it more interesting.. just like the s/t album!

They are rested, eager to write, taking their time experimenting, not promising reicarnation of Iowa (which would be awesome but would mean they are trying to appeal to the fans, not write freely) and they underscore that it will not be out anytime soon. Sounds like a perfect recipe for the new album š I'm looking forward to hearing what it will sound like, with Eloy and no time pressure from the label. I hope it comes out in 2027, but if not, I'll wait however long it takes without complaining š
