The music was awesome. But the movie really felt like a from dusk till dawn ripoff. Too many similarities. And the final battle sucked. It was over in 5 minutes after they finally got in

Smoke removed the necklace because he's ready to die. The charm kept him alive during war and protected him from vampires. He knew it was magical, and was actually trying to see his woman and child in death.

To say the lines where Remick describes the spirituality he held onto but cant feel anymore is him believing there is nothing i think is a cultural misunderstanding. The mistake he made is thinking he could ever reconnect to it through violence and assimilation to white supremacy is the cold thing. Not the not believing in the colonial idea of god and the devil. This was a great review. Found your channel today this is my third video.

I didnt see it mentioned and sorry if it was but Remick uses white supremacy against the Klanspeople at the beginning but you missed important context. They wouldnt necessarily have let him in without his obvious white supremacy because whitness didnt fully include Irish people at the time.

One of the most overrated movies of the last 10 years (next to Nosferatu). Got the lib whites clapping like seals because of their soft bigotry of low expectations. Boring, badly written, disjointed, disappointing.

I'm a bit late but i didnt want to watch this until my wife and I had seen it. At the end before the shootout with the klan when he removes his necklace from his wife, I was under the impression that was a protective charm and he was removing it because he was okay with dying. That's at least how I took it.

When remmick approached the couple, he mentioned that the native americans killed his wife. Im not sure if she dided then or before that and he just lied to them for sympathy

I watched this months ago and thought it was comically dog shit. No idea how this movie is even remotely highly rated.
