I can't disagree with any of your picks but for me Troy would have to be number one on the list.

I liked Kingdom Of Rain with The The and Visions Of You with Jah Wobble

Dismissive and slightly criminal to have not included the devastatingly powerful and cathartic "Fire on Babylon" from "Universal Mother"

Troy number one for me RIP dear Sinead

I don't understand why No Man's Woman wasn't a huge hit, it's so catchy and deep. It practically feels insulting that NC2U is considered one of her best because her OWN songs are so much more interesting and authentic to me.

A mother's love and The Rebel song catch my heart and make me cry. It angelic… silent night and Sacrifice.. are just haunting.

She was a beautiful woman with an angelical voice. This is a very good list indeed of her best songs. “Nothing Compares to You” is by far my favorite Sinead’s song. But also my favorite Sinead album is “I Am Not Your Girl?”. The way she sings and performs this classic songs is truly breathtaking. “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”, “Secret Love”, “Love Letters” and “Why Don’t You Do Right” are beautifully performed. We lost her so young but her talent will endure for many years to come. Thanks for the great video. Cheers!

I would add the entire Throw Down Your Arms album, which isn't on streaming but is on YouTube. Total masterpiece. Prossibly shouldn't work, but absolutely does.

The first album was really good and also featured the guitar of Japan’s Rob Dean. I think he also played with her in some TV appearances.

"Universal Mother" is a high-water mark, an accomplished collection of songs that works like a indelible, slow burn on the soul. 💜
"Three Babies" is beautiful, and a fantastic performance that bests the vocals of "Nothing Compares 2 U" (For repeated listening, I prefer the more soulful Prince/Rosie Gaines version of that song rather than O'Oconor's impressively painful, scream-therapy rendition, but, yes, not a bad song to be remembered for).
"John, I Love You" is another lovely performance, albeit an odd, but captivating little song.

The 1st time I heard Sinead's music was live in an amphitheater in 1990. A neighbor had 2 extra tickets. I've been a fan ever since, not just of her music, but of her political activism as well. I was devastated last week to hear of her death.

Breakthrough vocals on Rick Wright's Broken China are particularly poignant. See what you did there.
Shortly before that outing who can forget her famous clash of wills with Rick's former bandmate and musical combatant Roger Waters too? Performing his Mother live in Berlin?

I loved 'Heroine' a song featured in the film 'Captive'. It got played on radio in Ireland and was the first time most people would have heard of her.

WELL SELECTED! There's of course a good few lullabies and ballads on Universal Mother (as one might expect from the title) like 'In My Heart', 'My 'Darling Child' and 'John I Love You' which sound like long forgotten Irish/English classic hymns AND the EP Gospel Oak is filled with great and gentle songs like 'This Is To Mother You' as well. Her voice well lauded as it should be, but her songwriting is second to none. A well considered top 10/playlist above – excellent! OH! I might add 'Three Babies' – that song was stunning – hit me right int the gut emotionally.

Good ranking Barry. One of my favorite covers of all time is her cover of “Success has made a failure of our home”, she had such a beautiful voice. R.I.P. Sinéad.

Thank you for this lovely video. It's not an easy task picking Sinead O'Connor's 10 best songs.
I personally think that Troy would have fitted well within the top 5. It's such a magnificent song.
I also place Scorn Not His Simplicity, All Babies and Red Football among her absolute most fantastic songs.

What a voice, what a face, what courage as an artitst and an activist. Seems like a suicide making this doubly tragic. Fucking hell. Sleep in peace, indeed.

She was like Van Gogh…so much pain and delivered so much beauty. One of the greatest voices I ever heard. Saw her live in 94' at the Warfield in San Francisco. What a voice!
