As a lifelong true blue Maine Democrat—why is everyone giving Platner a pass for everything? Why are we pretending that we wouldn’t have a field day if a Republican did and said the same things that Platner has? Get real. Platner’s policy positions are on point—but maybe this is why a person shouldn’t go from harbor master straight to the US Senate. Platner is scandal ridden. We seem to have Dirty Donald for President because people didn’t like Kamala’s laugh FFS. Kamala was extremely qualified and unimpeachable in comparison to Platner. Can you do a report on any polls of Republicans who voted for Cornyn what they plan to do, I heard 30% of them are going to vote for Talarico and the rest of them are undecided or won't vote. There's also going to be a libertarian in the race

Obviously, as you said, it doesn’t help. But I think with the type of candidate he is, there is a higher tolerance level for this stuff. Again, NOT saying it’s good, but it’s not a campaign killer. The other thing is that Platner is focused on the issues, which I think is important to voters. It’s why Paxton is struggling in Texas. He’s NOT focused on the issues. He’s focused on character assassination of Talarico. If you’re making character the centerpiece of your campaign then YOUR character is up free game (Paxton). That’s a fight Paxton can’t win. So, Platner will be fine if he remains laser focused on the issues.

The Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Let's think that through. Platner would be progressive and anti-genocide. The NYT has been enthusiastically pro-genocide for years.
