Same Keith but i was in flip flops and stepped on glass, the glass went right through thos flip flops. (We were at an outdoor keg party in the middle of an industrial part of town 🙄) Getting that glass removed and the subsequent stitches was sooooo painful! (This was a GenX era story.)

Just so you know, there are two blue (overhead?) lights that reflect in your glasses and occassionally it looks like you have royal blue eyeballs, Abby. Not a biggie, though!

I went to Madonna's Who's That Girl concert, too! (But we were in the Bay Area CA) I was not a kid, but in my early twenties and had been to several concerts at that point.

Cool that you all got to meet Debbie Gibson. Sorry for late comment, somehow missed this video. Don't know if you all are fans of the original JAWS movie, but it's on the big screen this weekend for 50th anniversary at participating theatres.

I was at that Madonna concert! It was sold out and a guy I worked with got tickets for us at the ticket booth. It was my first concert 💜

Great stories. I just took my daughter to her first concert in Lincoln this week. Weird Al. She is 13 and loves 80s music. I am still planning on sending the Sleepover sneak in story, but waiting for my sister to send me the photos 😂.

I had a subscription to Freestylin' magazine. That was my "teen beat" magazine of the 80s. 😉 Speaking of Swatch, I made my own Swatch T-shirt in high school art class. This would have been about 1987 or 88. I took one of my bike magazines for inspiration and created some sort of iron-on stencil using an actual image of the Swatch face. It's so long ago I don't remember the details of how I did it but I remember placing the watch face on the back and the word logo on the front pocket area. I'm sure I broke several copyright laws but it was a one-off for art class. I wore that shirt so much I wore it out long ago and I'm sure my mom tossed the skeletal remains by the time I entered college! LOL

I have another Swatch story from early 90’s,but I’ll save that for later,although I feel like I might have told that before.
I will share my first concert story though!

Thanks so much, Abby and Keith, for choosing my story this was so fun! So sorry, I completely forgot to send you the photo 🤦🏼♀️ I’ll send it to you anyway just so you can see it. Loved hearing everyone’s stories, especially Stacy’s since I was a huge Debbie Gibson fan too. And Wow The Jacksons! I never got to see Michael 😢 so jealous.
