This one didnโ€™t grab me in the same way Hot Fuzz did. Maybe itโ€™s because Iโ€™m not an expert in the zombie horror genre, but I guess I expected it to be either more quintessentially British or maybe a bit more funny (it felt more like a serious film near the end). It did have its funny bits and some clever ideas.

I swear in some later (I think) video James says Shaun of the Dead is his favorite zombie movie. Anybody know which video I'm thinking of, or at least could ya corroborate my memory please? Thanks. It's my favorite zombie movie too.

I am always enlightened when I see that James has found a movie from the current century that he really loves. Every movie from his favorite list was made before the year 2001, and here is a movie that is up there in the same genre as 2 or 3 films from that list.

Shaun of the dead rivals Evil Dead 2 in my opinion. Mainly because of they way the comedy aspect blends so well with horror aspect between the two films.

Edit: I've heard that not only did Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg decided to make the trilogy itself a parody of the Three Colours trilogy, but that the reason why they called it the Cornetto Trilogy is because they used to use a Cornetto as a hangover cure

I really hope that you guys do a Rental Review on this film, or even one for every film in the Cornetto Trilogy. If you're a fan of movies, there is SOOOOO much to sink your teeth into with any one of those films that i don't think a 4 minute review of one of them really does any of them justice lol

Actually all the actors had earbuds with donโ€™t stop me now playing so that they could choreograph the fight scene in time with the music.

I think you missed a cinematic reference. It wasn't called the "Cornetto Trilogy", it was called the "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy, and obvious reference to the "Three Colours" trilogy by Krzysztof Kieล›lowski. As a film student you should know this!

Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost basically guarantees a movie I'll love. Nick and Simon have amazing synergy and are very flexible, and Edgar Wright is well, Edgar Wright.

Yeah. Watched it a couple of times. Mostly enjoyed it. I do not normally watch horror/zombie movies but I can cope with this one because it is so funny, well acted and well made.
