I went to Japan for the first time in March, wish I’d known a lot of this beforehand. The top floor of that mall was closed, which was really disappointing, but there was a JPop group meet & greet outside under the giant Gundam which almost felt like a parody of Japan

I showed the video to Lily (my daughter), and she had the absolute biggest smile on her face listening to you talk about meeting her at Celebration. Thank you again for making her day and taking the time to chat and take a pic, even though you were in a hurry. It means a lot. My wife watched it too and thought you putting us in your livestream was incredibly sweet and was bummed she didn't get to witness Lily's celebrity encounter in person, lol. Hope to run into you again sometime. Maybe LA 2027 for the 50th? Take care.

2:14:00 or so, the US Robotech toyline had a handful of Japanese toys brought over, most notably Macross mechs, but the vast majority of the toys in the line were originals created by Matchbox, including the carded 3 1/4" character figures. Notably, the two Robotech figures in that display are from Robotech Masters/Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, which had practically no toys made for it in Japan.

We were just in Japan in February for three weeks. Talk about a feast for collectors. I got a ton of statues, action figures, manga, and gachapon things. I found Don Quijote actually had the best prices on SH Figuarts stuff (about 1000 yen less than most other places). Akihabara melts my brain every time I visit. I bought a mug and a fan with the Great Wave and Godzilla on it. We're hoping to go again in a few years time. (FYI we came back with over 4000 photos, but that does include 5 days in South Korea).

Of all the vintage stuff you shot, the one item that really caught my eye was the Hudson Joycard Famicom controller in the case with the first Bioman figures.

I played the Adventure Island NES games as a very little kid, and Super Adventure Island 2 on SNES is one of my all-timers. So I have a soft spot for the Hudson bee and Takahashi Meijin/Master Higgins, as well as the Famicom controller design.

Japan is wonderful. Entire sections of town that look like someone said "What if a shopping mall was a city?". Dream destination.

The Boba Fett might come up on Yahoo Auction. I will keep an eye out for you. I am more active on the vintage home computers Audio Video equipment, but also on the action figures and stuff as well for my 4 kids. So like pic up Disney Toy Story stuff, Macross and Jurassic Park stuff from the 2000's and earlier etc. GI Joe stuff..and also Godzilla stuff!.So I am checking the auction a few times per week. Hope that you had a good time in Japan!

I fell asleep somewhere around putting tiny trucks on as roller skates. I’ll have to see what came after. Great show. Welcome back. Hopefully more stories to come.

Was surprised by beardless Dan, then saw the length of the stream, so I assume it will have grown back by the end.

And don't worry, Mike, the James Howlett joke made me literally lol. 😄
