I cannot believe how dumb you have to be boil down the entire show to “toxic masculinity”

Being a hipster at my core I resisted watching ITSL because it was so popular and so in the online zeitgeist so fast and I kept seeing it everywhere so I just avoided it cause I’m pretentious I guess and wanted to be different
But when i finally watched it (and then watched the whole thing again 6 months later) I gotta say it’s one of the funniest damn shows ever made and the guy is a genius. Everything he does is funny and it loses no value on repeat viewings, it still makes me laugh my ass off, even the sketches I’ve seen 10 times now.

It's more than just about toxic masculinity. It's about social norms in general, and deep-seated insecurity. He's like Larry David but he leans more into absurdism.

What an absolutely idiotic take on a comedy show.

Neil brennan is an actual idiot. Liked his standup. That first one. But hes just dumb. He sees it as the dude would rather hurt himself than comfront "vulnerability" whereas its actually is that he cant face "being wrong" or "embarrassed".
Vulnerable is too vague. Thats not ut abd its not what men are protecting. Thats the nice explanation for it that protects males delicate egos. We arent afraid we are "vulnerable" we are afraid of realizing we are dumb. Thats it. Not so special, stupid.

Our daughter and her friend quietly snuck up behind us during a sleepover while we were watching the Egg video game skit. They thought it was so funny and it kept getting weirder and weirder…my wife and I went through the same roller coaster emotions as Tim in realtime "We don't know why it's doing that! We've never seen this before!" 😂

What a terrible take. You could think of it that way some way when he loses his cool but most aren’t about toxic masculinity.

Can things just be funny? Like silly funny? Not everything needs a deep-dive dissertation as it relates to the human condition in the form of an Atlantic article.

Women will also sometimes ruin everything to avoid admitting faults, mistakes, embarrasmeny etc. Thats FAR from exclusive for men. Every girlfriend Ive ever had, had that issue. To call it male toxicity???
