She seems like she has no idea what she’s talking about and also has had shitty therapists. It seems like her identity is just being “crazy”

Doctors, shrinks, therapists, dentists, nurses……
So many of them cause so much irreparable lifelong harm every SINGLE. Day.
Doesn’t matter the good they do.
I do not understand why they’re allowed to do so much harm.
We can’t go around like….. building houses for the poor or founding charities or feeding the hungry bjt then randomly go punch people in the face.
We’d go to jail.
But doctors/therapists/dentists/INSURANCE COMPANIES can just commit mass murder and even worse horrific life altering traumatic injury.
I don’t actually understand how anyone I okay with any of this

Jung wasn't proven discredited, he just couldn't be validated through scientific rationalism. He's the closest we ever got to actually finding ourselves.

So basically human therapists are no better than AI therapists. Got it.

What Sara was describing wasn’t CBT. Sounds like the therapist may have mischaracterized their treatment style.

"I like when my therapist says I'm crazy".
That's because you feel crazy, and they are validating your feelings when they say that.

This video makes me think there are two very different kinds of therapy that you can get which are largely delineated by 'therapy through insurance where they're trying to solve your problems' and 'therapy you pay for where you can buy whoever will tell you what you want to hear' and the latter is not a 'guarantee' for everyone who can afford therapy, but there are for-sure a lot of therapists who are just waiting for a big spender whose problem is 'how can I be more of an asshole to manipulate people and get rich and do what I want without feeling bad about it' and will support that shit if they get enough money. It seems pretty clear that the richest assholes in the world are buying 'therapists' who will say it's fine to billionaires to ruin lives for money and put large regions or countries in turmoil for personal wealth. Those therapists should be in jail for sure.

1:06 feelings are valid because you're feeling them. That doesn't mean they're right. The nuance isn't that complicated guys.

Psychopaths and sociopaths are drawn to psychology. They want to know WTF sometimes too. And then they realize they can play a game and make money off of devouring their patients. 🤷♂️ rinse repeat.

Feelings ARE valid, in the sense that they exist and it's the way some part of you experiences things. But that doesn't mean they're ACCURATE or TRUE. Feelings are just that — feelings. Where a lot of therapists harm people is not understanding that you can validate someone's experience without agreeing that they're understanding things correctly. You had a nightmare? Valid. But does that mean it's real? NO.

CBT was the only therapy I found remotely useful.
Edit: it sounds like her CB therapist might have not been good. Her description of CBT was like the exact opposite of what I experienced.

Feelings are valid, your actions and reactions are not always. You can be mad or jealous of things, it's reasonable and common, how you treat people or start acting based on that isn't always good. Saying your feelings are valid is like half an equation.
