Rush: One of Canada’s Greatest Exports?
Rush were a constant companion on our tour bus a few years ago, so I was delighted to see Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson perform as Rush at the Juno Awards alongside new drummer, Anika Nilles. They cheered me right up after another skirmish with computer settings…..

My brother worshiped Rush, so since he passed away 5 years ago, I have taken up the torch. Convenient for me since I actually live in Canada. Now you have to check out the Tragically Hip. The greatest Canadian Band not to achieve international fame.

There’s Rush and then there’s every other Canadian band.

You would never see this on American music award shows. They're too "female pop" today 3:12

I'm going to see AC/DC in Ohio Stadium on July,15th 2026 but I wish I was seeing RUSH instead! Love the drummer, Anika, they got to replace the irreplaceable Neil Peart, RIP. She is amazing along with Alex and Geddy who are now senior citizens! P.S. Love the clip of you driving around Valentia Island, reminds me of your "open fire' recording day's! (one of my favorite Darkness music videos)

Very smart to have the first song played live be a John Rutsey era song. I look forward to the whole show

I'd love to see them live,…. The tickets are a bit steep though…
I get the reasoning for high price tickets, the bands deserve the $$ … but the ticket sellers are fucking scalping both the fans and the bands……
Shameful cut throat society we've become.
But I still "Believe In a Thing Called Love!!!!!"
I think you just may be of Peter Frampton's bloodline somewhere man..!
You blasted that tune out and we all LOVE IT..!
I play it every time I hear my shitty neighbours arguing!!!!
lol… Cheers from
Canada!🤠🤘🇨🇦

Anika Niles is a perfect fit in my opinion. If you watch her other performances, you’ll see she’s an extremely versatile and skilled drummer. She’s unbelievably talented.

This was the FIRST song on their FIRST album. They are starting all over again from the very beginning! Epic.

Honestly when I listened to Permission To Land for the first time on release year when I bought the CD on a high school field trip, I'd have been goddamned fucking surprised if you HADN'T listened to Rush at least a few times before recording that album. It wasn't PROG but I felt like there was some Rush DNA in there.

Finding My Way is what I call "Zepellin-era Rush". (the riifs and groove from the era were so zepellinish) Ironically, they were trying to find their way. Not knocking it, the song totally kicks ass.

Geddy should just sing these songs in a different register, it'd be fine, instead of trying to reach a pitch he can't hit.

I drums and synthesizer. When I watch your videos and begin speaking about guitar, bass, chords, I feel like a guitarist. I may not be able to swing a RUSH show, so I bought a Fly By Night Owl ball-cap from their website. If all fails, by some merch 🤘🏼⚡️🧢

You might want to check out Max Webster, a band from a similar time. Very fun. And also a track called Battlescar, with Rush and Max Webster
