Science fiction, unlike star wars, is about breaking the cursed circle where all the elements sequel the previous and known ones. The universe is endless and the most interesting thing is to get to know about it infinite diversity. Star wars in this aspect is a very limited fantasy.

11:36 Off the top of my head, space fiction was an extension of the exploration/colonization era adventure fantasy literature that came before it, Jules Verne et al, just applied beyond the reaches of our planet. As I got older I couldn't unsee how so many works in this genre presuppose an anthropocentric, even Anglocentric, point of view on the universe when there's nearly an infinity of possibilities out there.

The futures of the worlds peoples like trees and the up most growth like reeds in wind. Sky-walking like a wraith between two worlds, the center relationship with “the space” of the cosmos.

To lose home parcel as the reach expands. How to keep rooted between the stones of orbit.

Moon is an organ that is mass transit for water.

"Futurism in 9 Minutes: How to Rewrite Culture" by 'Curious Muse' is a concise overview of the artists movement "Futurism", the official art of Italian Fascism. It's interesting how the rustik and Classicist preferences of the 3. Reich somehow overshadowed the modernist, techno-progressive ideology of the Italian version in the publics conception of what its essence is

TNG was basically Sesame Street for adults. It may have been unsuccessful. Myself, growing up disconnected, I loved sci-fi because cocky weirdo explorers often ran into stuff like the xenomorphs. Lots of human exceptionalism feels like American exceptionalism, and so watching aliens that don’t look “smart” and aren’t “even capable of using tools” or whatever absolutely smoke cocky explorer weirdos. I can’t unsee the Force as the Mysterious Presence of Life in Everything, ya know? A Jedi’s strength flowwwws from the force. The rock, the tree, the ship, and all that. Wars not make one great, ya know? Y’all totally know. Like, I dunno how many of our languages treat time as spacial. My language teacher was telling us though, that’s how. 28:39 HEY LOOKS LIKE HOME TO ME, YO!
