Ryan Adam’s genuinely believes himself to be as important to music as Bob Dylan or something and is offended to his core when he isn’t treated as such. Him calling someone else self important is comical.

Ryan has the most idiosyncratic catalog of multi-genre music than any and all of these nut-huggers put together. By and large. Also, if a juggernaut of mediocrity like Joshua Tillman has an issue with you, you're definitely onto something unique.

I really like Ryan's taste in music meaining he dislikes the same musicians I do. Can't stand Jack White nor The Strokes. Father John is just like Adams said in his tweet. That being said I respect Father John for not giving a ef. Respect to White. I have 0 respect for The Stokes, they sound like a bad copy of themselves. I must say that I don't follow any musician's personal life, these are my opinions based on my taste of course.

I love Adams' music, and I was excited to see him this past weekend. Strangest concert I've ever been to, as the atmosphere in the room never relaxed. The tension was palpable from the beginning and only increased as the night wore on and Adams singled out and criticized people in his audience for where they were sitting, what they were wearing, and how much they were moving around and distracting him. He was like one of those comics whose schtick relies on belittling people who've paid to see him. In addition – you couldn't see him at all, as his affliction – some sort of vision problem – doesn't allow him to tolerate bright lights, and the stage was illuminated by only a few household standing lamps. He played all solo acoustic, which was fabulous, but at the end of the first set he went electric for just one song and the damn thing went on so long and got so repetitive that I got the distinct impression he was spoofing us with it. Also, there were times when he would just start addressing the audience about a topic no one could understand and then would ramble on for quite some time, like some drunk uncle at the dinner table. Somehow, divorce ends with buttered toast slapped on your forehead – stuff like that. It was weird. I love his music, but I've seen him in person enough now.

Saw him play last week and musically it was a great show. But he talked shit about so many different people while on stage — doesn't really display great character IMHO
