Kiss changed everything because him and kiss were the absolute rock ‘n’ roll fantasy come to life they were just bigger than anything at the time the imagery the music, the lyrics, the songs basically any rocker now that’s it. John 5’s age kiss was their biggest influence.

Kiss was my favourite band in my teens (born in 1990). I had a billion cheap bootleg band tees, and they were all of Kiss. All four walls of my bedroom were dedicated to Kiss related stuff. Soon, got me a black Squier Strat and started plonking away learning my first Kiss riffs. Ace was always my favourite, but after I got the guitar he became my god. My email was literally aceisgod. When I was 17 I saw him live for the first time. Travled alone across the country to meet a girl 3 years older than me that I used to hang with during my first year of high school. Saw Kiss first (Alive 35 Tour), then the next week Ace happen to play (both in Oslo). So I stayed with the girl during the week, basically sitting on her bed drinking beer and playing on her Epiphone SG while she worked all day. Then came the Anamoly tour where I got to meet him in person. It was cool, and I cherish the picture of me and Ace which my then gf took of us. My favourite band for many years was Frehley's Comet. I even burned/scarred a lightning bolt onto my lower left arm as a tribute to Ace. I did this when I was a dumb-ass 16 year old. Still the scar is vaguely visible in good lightning.

Man, it saddens me a lot that he is gone… my nivk-name in high school was Ace because I both looked like him, worshipped him, and drank as much as him (not really).

Ace definitely shaped me as a person a lot. For better and worse. He was my hero and idol. Alongside Jimmy Page and Bob Dylan, which has grown more in favour in later years.

The way life turned out for me, though, I'll probably be following soon. This ol' cocaine is 'bout to make me sick, so maybe somewhere over the hills and far away, we shall meet on the ledge. Then we're gonna rip it out, with cold gin before we get snow blind and wiped out like fallen angles into the night on a New York groove.

Yes we lost him😢😢..Thing I loved about Ace is his Ol Skool Sound on Guitar…back in the day there were a few other bands as well that had that Guitar technique…But Ace stood out as supreme❤..On guitar it's all in the feel an strings…radiating from the soul..into the inner koar of the guitar neck…Ace definitely had great technique.😊 Joe in Michigan❤
