Screw. That. Noise.
Best thing I did five years ago… Deleted all Social Media accounts, stopped using anything from Google, and encrypted and VPN everything I do online.

If you ever need to provide a fake email and phone number to a place that demands it, there are websites where you can create temporary emails and VoIP numbers to receive confirmation texts and emails to.

If you work at a store where they want you to demand info, just ask once and upon the first no, simply enter made up info for the purchase. If your boss confronts you about the emails and phone numbers you gather being fake then just claim that's what the customer told you and they must be the ones who made it up.

As a retail worker, I promise retail workers don't actually care if you make an account and are just following the script they have to say. The whole account system isn't their idea, so if you don't want to make one, just be polite about it and don't take it out on them, lol. You can be firm without ruining their day.

It reminds me of ye olden dayes when Radio Shack would demand your phone number, address, social security number, and a fluid sample before selling you a $1.19 watch battery.

I dont feel the need to make up or excuses or lies, I just say, " No, I don't want to do email."
It's so they can sell it and so they can track your purchases and other stuff. . Nope, not doing it.
Just say no y'all, it's not that hard.

HARBOR FREIGHT INSISTS that you provide an e-mail! (They told me it's easier to return an item if I have to) I responded, I will have the Perfect printed return receipt after the purchase) If you ask me one more time, I will walk put of here…Paid for the item and I still have the return receipt.

I visited a RETAIL machinery store here in Colchester, UK probably some 20 years ago now. I wanted to buy two rolls of PTFE tape for sealing pipe joints, probable value 50p (that's half a British pound) each. At the counter I was asked for my postal address, phone number and email address, so they could create an account. I said I didn't want an account, I just wanted two rolls of PTFE tape. After some heated discussion I said, "Look, here's a pound coin. I give this to you and you give me the tape. That's pretty simple, yes?" But they declined. So I walked out and bought the tape elsewhere. I have never used this company again.

My husband and I had about $300 worth of stuff in our cart at Lowes and the girl asked for my phone number. I said no and she insisted she could not do the transaction without it. I told her to put in her phone number and she scoffed at me. I asked to speak to someone else and she insisted they would also need a phone number. We pushed the cart aside and left. We havnt gone there since.

Sometimes giving your email to stores is necessary as they might
Guarantee items that are sold buy stores for a long period of time that is way longer than the standard 30 day period that most stores work by
So keep a copy of your name post code and email address on their system so that they can easily fix any issues with their products
For example I buy stuff from a local guitar store every so often and everything that they sell they back for 3 years at no extra cost two the
Customer and you are probably highly likely to lose the receipt within
That time

A give them an old AOL email I have not used in 20 years. I use it as a spam garbage can. It by now probably has tens of thousands of spam emails in it no doubt.

I always find, "That's none of your concern" works here in the UK or anywhere in Europe; they're not bothered; only in the US do they become aggressive, to which I reply, "fuck off" & exit the shop in question sans goods.
