Red Hoop Talk EP 53: Staying #ClosetoCulture with the team from AAIA
Join #REDHOOPTALK LIVE on Saturday at 4 pm Eastern to hang out with the team behind the Association on American Indian Affairs!
Jamie Marquez-Bratcher is a citizen of the Oglala Lakota Nation and is the Association’s new Office Manager! Jamie is joining the Association after pursing her interests in creative planning, beading jewelry, and bringing stories to life via podcasting. For the past few years, she has been able to embrace her love of travel and reconnect with those most important to her as a digital nomad touring the west coast in an RV with her family.
Kaitlin Lenhard is a citizen of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and is the Association’s new Public Affairs & Outreach Coordinator! Kaitlin is joining the Association following her work with the American Semester Program at Michigan State University and has done freelance work in videography, photography, and design. Kaitlin is passionate about visual communication and is excited to put her skills to work to benefit the Association’s relationships with Native Nations and educating the public.
Colleen Medicine is a citizen of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and started with the Association in January as the Program Director. Colleen has worked with repatriation issues throughout her career in Indian Country, including work she’s done with her home community where she served in the Tribe’s Repatriation Office and later as the Director of Language and Culture and NAGPRA Designee. A lifetime Anishinaabemowin language learner, one of the many ways Colleen stays connected to culture is through language learning.
Shannon O’Loughlin is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Chief Executive and Attorney for the Association. If you have watched Red Hoop Talk, you know enough about Shannon already!
