    16:02 Right?! I mean, I got my first listen of "Espresso" during the later part of summer 2024, and I never looked back.

    Unapologetically, "Espresso" is what you get if you took the pure, undistilled essence of the summer of 2024 and put it in a Starbucks glass bottle, and I love it for that. 😊

    Music peaked in the 80's , wend down hill in the 89's and crashed into a steaming pile of poop in the 2000's !, how much new music these days is by AI ?, more & more it's just more AI Slop!.

    I am not trying to be contrarian, but does anyone feel that when you listen to the new music friday spotify playlist (e.g.) that you only like 1 out of every 50 songs. I want to like more new stuff, but it's really hard cause it's so boring most of the time. The last "new" popular song I liked was watch me walk away by sunflower beam. That was fun. This list of summer songs is incredibly boring to me personally.

    Let’s be real. Ever since 2020 people make this same vid. I already know y’all BRAT fans will come for me but she didn’t have THE summer song she had maybe THE summer album and that’s not the same.

    Sadly, I saw a video of a man who went to one of Sabrina's shows and getting made fun of for being a man. It makes me sad that that song caused that to happen

    I think your underestimating the power of streaming in solidifying certain songs' spot on the chart. The feedback loop they create for songs that gain an initial traction, especially from more popular artists, makes it hard for more songs to become hits.

    I do wonder how the prevalence of music streaming has affected how songs chart nowadays. I feel like it opens up a much larger music library to most people, so a lot more people get into smaller artists or more niche and distinct genres. Good for smaller artists, but maybe it has an impact by making it easier for people to listen to all the old stuff all the time instead of the newest releases.

    It’s not that ordinary shouldn’t have been a hit, it’s that it should’ve peaked at #23 and left the charts after 10 weeks instead of staying at #1 for literal months

    Modern pop is so repetiitve and boring. Not one song is really memorable. Too many of them are whinney, autotuned, soulless ballads or singer/songwriter stuff. Next point is: where are the bands? There is no new tears for fears, no oasis, no depeche mode. Why? Although being a metalhead for 35 years, of course I am humming sometimes pop songs which from the 80s to the 2010s. After that? No. Maybe it is because I'm getting older or because of the decline of radio and MTV.
