I give a rats ass who I tell this too, but, Randy Rhoads is MY #1 GUITARIST! EVER! The usual response I get is, "there's better!" Which I reply, "Waiting for a drumroll?" "The guy Ozzy got wears a cheese gater on the back of his guitar!" "That makes him great??" Sorry people!! Revelation is such a dynamic piece that Randy, AT 23, composed with Bob Daisley, Don Aurey and Lee Kerslake! That music in the middle of that song then the lead at the end!! UNF'K'N'REAL! Then Over the Mountain!! The greatest song ever made, recorded, you name it!!

Kinda weird, according to the documentary Randys sound guy in Quiet Riot use to put a pic of EVH on Randys guitar pedal and loved stepping on it.
A lady in that doc also confesses that Randy was never interested in EVH, but remembers EVH and DLRoth showing up at a few Quiet Riot gigs…

I don't think I've ever mourned for someone I never met like I have for Randy. He's the reason why I played guitar these last 40 years and incorporated classical.
Even as Ozzy just passed away, listening to this interview has me more emotional about Randy. I was a 13 year old guitarist when Randy died and it has hada profound impact on me.
I realize they didn't want to discuss the plane accident in interviews. Randy didn't do drugs so I can only surmise that the bordom of being on the road for so long drove him to make the reckless decision to hop in a plane stolen by an unstable man.

Great interview. I don't know if Randy was aware and heard Uli Jon Roth's music or not. But he would've been blown away by the electric guitar meets classical side of what Uli did. Not many have had the talent to bridge that gap and do something beautiful and moving with it. Sadly we'll never know.
