The Eagles’ Randy Meisner has died aged 77. This is my little tribute to a man who gave so much to that classic Eagles sound

Randy had a great voice and was a criminally underrated bass player. I absolutely loved him! I hate that Frey and Henley made his life so miserable, but it's good that he overcame it and went on with his life. I feel fortunate to have seen him on the 77 Hotel California tour, and I will miss him always. RIP sweet Randy. Love you!๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ’”

Randy created not only the wonderful Take it To The Limit, but the masterpiece "Try And Love Again" off Hotel California. A gorgeous song with a beautiful melody, soaring harmonies, and Randy's great voice. Rest well Randy.

Randy also had a third album self titled solo album in 1984. Produced by Heart's Mike Flicker it had contributions from Howard Leese. Denny Carmassi and a duet with Ann Wilson

his vocal was such a key ingredient to the Eagles and Poco that Schmidt's voice was sitting on the subs bench of both bands as an 'emulator ' of f that soaring range of thr late, great Randy Meisner.

Because of "the last resort",in my opinion the best eagles song and a thing of a rare beauty,"Hotel California"is my favorite.Randy Meisner was fine… fine musician and singer…a very important contribution for the band.

Agree with you about Desperado-it's my favourite Eagles album too,and there's a great lead vocal(I think it's him,at least) from Randy on Certain Kind Of Fool, massively underrated track…
    RIP Randy

Nice tribute. I liked the self-titled Eagles album and Desperado a lot, but started to lose interest after that. Losing Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner in particular changed the whole feel of the band, but for a while there they had a fresh sound…
