Quiet Riot Just Did Something NOBODY Expected

Rock Feed | October 8, 2026

Quiet Riot’s new singer John Torra had to prove his voice wasn’t AI before the band hired him.

Manager Regina Banali suspected the 23-year-old’s viral audition videos were faked because he sounded so much like the late Kevin DuBrow, Rolling Stone reports. Torra passed every test, joined Rudy Sarzo, Alex Grossi and Johnny Kelly, and debuted October 1 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, then played St. Charles, Missouri on October 3.

He is living the dream and when he mentioned that he opened for Steelheart it reminded me of the movie Rockstar. When Mark joins his favorite band steel dragon as the new singer.

I have tickets to see them November 6th. I'll tell you this, I haven't been this excited to see a band in over 30 years. This one feels different, special, better. To see these guys having this much fun brings me joy beyond measure.

I'd been seeing thumbnails on YouTube about this guy but never actually paid much attention to them. Now I realize I need to start, I'm now curious what he sounds like. Okay, I need to hear a bit more than that little clip but he sounds great so far! Thank you Brian for bringing this to my attention!!!

I wonder if this will set a positive trend with aging 80s bands finding new life with a younger singer. I love Dokken but dons best days are behind him. He can source out a new singer like him and he can stay in the fold managing things and writing new music.

Special Comments: Thank You, Jizzy Pearl! Now Quiet Riot has a frontman that sounds like Kevin Dubrow.
Quiet Riot needs to tour Japan and Rubicon records needs to sign him so he can do many solo albums in the country of Japan.
