1:51 LOL @ the acronym being CAQ which in English would sound like 🐓.

And could you imagine if they instituted a hard border?… driving from Ontario to the Atlantic provinces would be like driving from the contiguous US to Alaska, except the latter really is very far away from the rest of the US (over a day’s drive versus 7 hours from Ontario to New Brunswick).

I am a Quebecois. We are not separating. I can tell you that. Absolutely no one is thinking we are separating soon at the moment. In any case this video is how I learned we were separating. Like what? 😭✌️

Anywhow you are so misinformed I can't take this seriously. Lowkey seems like a ragebait video.

I lowkey don't care about nationalism but this dogshit video ignited something in me. You are barred from entry to the walls of Québec from now on. Don't let me catch you in Québec.

Another great JJ video. Love it.

Can I just be a tiny pedant. I wish people (by no means just JJ) would stop referring to the British monarch as the King of England. There hasn’t been a King of England for over 300 years, when the 1707 Acts of Union merged the Kingdoms of Scotland and England into the Kingdom of Great Britain which then became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801. He should just be called the British king or the U.K. monarch, or just Charles III. Everyone would know him given there are so few of these arcane stupid hereditary monarchies left now, most of whom have him as their King as well.

A lot of this talk feels like their version of the thing Texans keep telling themselves- “we can legally secede and become our own country any time, they can’t say no”

Look, I get that Legault's constitutional gambit is legally questionable, but calling it a "temper tantrum" and describing him as "stupid and simple" isn't exactly the thoughtful analysis Canada needs right now.
The video asks why nobody cares about Quebec anymore, then proceeds to demonstrate exactly why many Quebecers feel alienated from the rest of Canada. When your response to a province's constitutional concerns is exhausted eye-rolling and comparing them to spoiled children, you're not really engaging with the issue—you're dismissing it.
Yes, Legault is playing fast and loose with constitutional law. Yes, wanting sovereignty while keeping federal money is contradictory. But maybe the reason Quebec keeps electing nationalist governments isn't because Quebecers are delusional—it's because decades of constitutional negotiations have gone nowhere, and they're tired of waiting for the rest of Canada to take their concerns seriously.
The condescension works both ways too. If English Canada thinks Quebec politics are too "exotic and complicated" to bother understanding, and Quebec thinks the rest of Canada doesn't respect its distinct identity, then we're stuck in a cycle where nobody's actually talking to each other.
We can criticize Legault's methods without treating an entire province like annoying relatives at Thanksgiving. This deserves better than smug detachment.

very interesting as a non american or non canadian also. the us often get most of the attention, but canada is no small country and important to pay attention to.

You are quite cringe. You have such a limited understanding of Québec's politics yet you speak on it with such authority. Also, if you care so little about it, why do you keep talking about it?

Québécois here; I despise Legault, and I hate the whole separatism ideology, but I'm honestly just so burnt out politically. All the options I could vote for are terrible:
Bloc is hardcore separatist, which i despise, but is fan of investing in education and healthcare, which i love.
CAQ is hardcore separatist and is hardcore defunding healthcare and education
Liberals I mostly agree with but they've been defunding healthcare and education provincially for most of my life.
Conservatives are everything I stand against.
QS is so left leaning they're basically shoveling clouds with magic wands.

In the end, my vote is useless as my area has elected a bloc representative siince before my birth anyways.

What's going on in Quebec is within the 1867 BNAA and any other province could do the same, as the Premier of Alberta has been saying. People don't realize how their perception of Canadian politics has been influenced by arbitrary liberal centralisations. And I'm not going to go into the little known implications of the 1937 Westminster Treaty. The ruling class of Canada spawned by the Hudson's Bay Co. & British East India Co, the deep state of the British Empire, lost control of the House of Lords for a minute and you're not supposed to know…

No way it happen, too many Liberal and fear. Unless Canada disband or become part of USA.
I go to souverainist events, but i am not naive about that.
This is a lulaby, while we continue to be assimilated and replaced. Most of the federal money is for paying migrants who are making baby to replace french descendants.
