Dahmer’s story makes for a chilling example of a psychopath whose appearance of normalcy played a huge part in his ability to get away with so many atrocities. Yet, it is also this facade that causes us to wonder how a person who seems perfectly normal on the outside could commit such outrageous acts of violence. I feel the first murder was one of the reasons which changed him into a part time psychopath. The first murder wasn't the beginning of the series, the second was the real beginning

I wonder if many of you would find him a sociopaths if he killed white women and girls. The lack of empathy for the victims really taints how many felt about Dhamer. A psychopath would manipulate by acting shy, quiet and "remorseful."

Watching this video as a diagnosed psychopath highlights many parts of my life and personality.I indeed do fantasize of harming others like you said near the end of the video and no one even suspects a thing as i am self aware of my inability to feel empathy ,i can try to appear normal although my narcisssim seeps through at times as it is so hard to not make myself the center of every conversation.I have not acted upon any of my fantasies but one day i probably will there is a division between psychopaths who want to hurt others and ones who just want to take advantage of them for their own gain.

Intelligence is correlated with dark thoughts and depression. Look up the Unibomber. He was a mathematical genius with limitless potential, but dropped it all and walked away to murder people.

The only serial killer who wasn't a psychopath. He had empathy but was just a very very sick and disturbed person. He was also very autistic

I disagree. I think there’s valid evidence and also quotes from the man himself that show he didn’t target gay black men, specifically because they were less cared about in society. He targeted the men he found attractive..and when looking at photos of his victims, you’ll see they all have a specific type of body physique and appearance

While I am deeply sorry for him going through extremely difficult phases of childhood, nothing ever justifies his actions. He never truly felt sorry or guilty for what he did…

Hate the sensationalism that comes with talking about serial killers. It's always made to be a show. It's made to enjoy watching. That's the sickest part. I don't enjoy hearing about murder. It makes me feel bad and I don't feel good when I feel bad. I feel good when I feel good.

I totally agree with you, Aperture. In his trial, it was stated that he did not meet the criteria of a psychopath. He took full responsibility for his actions, and seemed genuinely interested in why he did the things he did. Thank you for your insight into this fascinating crime.

Most psychopaths I know has very low agreeableness and low neutoticism. Conscientiousness has little correlation.

9:43 I ask myself a slightly different question every day: "Why haven't I murdered anyone yet?" I may not be diagnosed as a psychopath, but I definitely tick a lot of boxes. I can easily see myself in any description of known psychopaths and in some serial killers'. If criminality was based on thoughts and not only actions, I'd 100% go to jail for life. But I don't act on my fantasies and distorted views of reality. Why? What's stopping me? I often give the answer of "because I don't wanna go to jail", but that's not true. I know that even if I wanted to go to jail, I still couldn't do anything. Not knowing the answer to this question still keeps me up at night 😐.

Dahmer was not a psychopath. He was seriously disturbed, but he tried to create living zombies in an effort to avoid abandonment. He wanted to be connected to people. The psychopath has no sentimental attachment to others.

And btw if he sees demonic or evil thoughts that can not be controlled that means there are actual demons behind it and this also goes for hearing voices saying to do evil things.
