as a huge weeknd fan this is one of his best songs and that's the point he's not meant to be s3xy he's a nihilistic hedonist desperately trying to "cure" his misery but failing.

I sorta now wonder if ALL of his songs are secretly about drugs.

“Earned it” is like how you feel all slick and cool and like a glamorous model taking a drag, “I Can’t feel my face” is the roaring awesome party when you’re high, “The Hills” is the crushing withdrawal…

I feel like we could make a case…

The hills have eyes is a metaphor for when you fuck in the Hollywood hills everyone has there eyes on you as in he’s a celebrity being sleezy in the hills and the paps eyes are watching him

    Ok

Before I ask this question, I would just like to make one thing clear. I'm not trying to start any fights here and I am genuinely curious. Would this be any more effective… if it were sung by a woman?

We all know if Rhianna's song 'S&M' was about any famous horror villain it would be Pinhead, come on…we know the cenobites are all about that leather and chains. Also Pluto from the movie 'The Hills Have Eyes' is played by Michael Berryman who was born with a condition and he was born without hair, teeth, fingernails or sweat glands.

my dad used to live just down the street from Michael Berryman(the lad who played the most iconic cannibal in ‘the hills have eyes’). He’s a cool dude, according to dad.

The hills have eyes is like a cliche lyric at this point, Ive heard it in a bunch of songs and it's usually used to mean something along the lines of "here in Hollywood there is always someone watching". I didn't even know it's a movie tbh, its just one of those cliche things people say about la
