Philosophy Tube’s Future
This video is a few things: a vlog from Summer in the City in London, a serious chat about Patreon and the channelâs future, an interactive game of spot the famous YouTuber in the background, and the story of what Philosophy Tube is for, why I started, and the value of education.

Anyone else notice the backing track was the same one All Elite Wrestling uses for their Outside The Ring series? I know I can't be the only one with this particular ridiculously specific intersection of interests.

I'm watching this video in 2019. It's amazing to see how far you've come and how much you've grown. You have absolutely lived up to the responsibility you talk about here.

Philosophy Degrees are the Bees Knees, and the discussion on whether or not bees have knees is only interesting if discussed philosophically.

Congratulations! As a patron, I'm ecstatic to see your channel moving ahead.
Will you discuss Neil Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death"? How do you think this impacts media just like your own, one which is also (generally) about serious discussion? Do you think the discussion is hampered by the way your medium, Youtube, works, and if so, what do you believe could be a manner of compensating for it?

still not sure why you havent given up your platform for those marginalised voices you have mentioned during building your following and getting a flat paid for in london.

We can relate a lot – we just went to VidCon for the first time, and were able to meet some of our YouTube heroes (Patrick JMT, Paul Anderson, Emily Graslie, etc.). We learned so much and were so completely wiped out afterwards.
We enjoyed hearing about your experience with Patreon. We just started our Patreon account recently, and it is truly humbling to have your viewers tell you in so many words that they see the value in the work you do. We feel such a kinship forming between fellow educators on YouTube. We're so glad to hear you are doing well. Keep up the good work.
…forgot to say: Books Books Books. đ

i am going to be really honest, and i don't this comes out the wrong way. when i come to youtube generally i use it to listen to lectures. i know i am maybe in a minority in your audience in this tendency, but literally all of my YT consumption is lectures. i've noticed lately you've had a few more non-lecture videos. this is fine, but maybe consider a 2nd channel if you like making them and want to make a lot. i really hate hearing about my lectures's lifestories. no offense to you personally, i just don't want to traverse that fantasy you know what i mean?
