Stand-up comedian Ben Moore defends a movie from the past that hasn’t aged well, while explaining the plot to his much younger friend Jordan Elias (who hasn’t seen it). Hilarity ensues.

Because you could really get anywhere in space in 120 years…uh huh. Let's say you could somehow achieve 2% of the speed of light, unimaginably fast…it would take you several years to accelerate to that top speed, then in 120 years you would have only travelled 2.4 light years. You're only a little over halfway to the nearest solar system, which by the way, has virtually 0% chance of having any humanly habitable planets. The nearest solar system with a human habitable planet is likely 100+ light years away, could be farther, a trip taking at least 5 thousand years.

Look up EC Comics "Weird Science #20". The cover features the lead story titled "50 Girls 50". It's about a spaceship with dozens of people in hibernation. A male technician sets his hibernation tube to malfunction. There are 50 men and 50 women frozen onboard. The male thaws women once per year telling them that they both awakened at the same time. It's a dark story about the desire for sex, power, and manipulation.

That intro tho. When you're walking into a movie review but not sure if it's a ruse to get you to have sex. I mean, that's the premise of a lot of adult movies. The trick people into sex, not the movie review part.

Don't judge a book by its cover, but you can with movies and Passengers is something to judge by the billboard you're force to look at for 5 minutes while stuck on the 405 debating your life choices.

This movie is from 2016? All the kids seem to be getting nostalgic about 2016, how people dressed, the music. Brother for me 2016 was last Tuesday except I I had more hair and a slightly more primitive phone in my pocket. Not to sound like Abe Simpson here, but the same thing will happen to you.

How many people are on the ship? Because if it’s a number under a million, that ship is a huge waste of resources. You’re trying to empty out Earth to solve overcrowding you gotta build big beefy freight train ships. Forget this cruise crap, stuff people into pods by the dozen. Pack them in tight so you can get 100 million off world a ship.

Yeaaaaah. This movie. The thing that turned me off was the space travel. All the passengers on the ship are okay with none of their family or friends being alive when they get to the new planet. And JL talks about doing another trip after living on the new planet for a couple years. That'd be 240 years or so until she returned to Earth. And the people in this universe are okay with that.
The movie should've been named "The Universe Time Forgot."

isn’t this only like 10 years old? i don’t think this really fits the “feel” of channel… something should be at least a quarter century old for it to age well/poorly. both of the main stars look exactly the same
