The "barbarism" conversation goes all the way back to the advent of Greek and Roman cultures. It's a deeply rooted feature of our supremacist culture, and it is designed to not only dehumanize indigenous people, but sever the Westerner from their own indigenous connection to the Earth. This is what drives the colonial behavior we see today: a desire to "tame" the earth, rise above and conquer nature, and eliminate any "wildness" from the human species. Thank you for sharing this valuable conversation, your voices are powerful.

Regarding the point, when Nick Estes recounts how being a visitor to Israel, the other people there, seemed lime they were there, to consume the spectacle and narrative, like at Disneyland, and tourist destinations in America in general, because they were there to be excited about consuming the fiction of the place. I think I repeated myself a bit there but I'm not going to delete it. I can't help make reference to the song Tragic Kingdom, by No Doubt from their classic album, Tragic Kingdom (1995).

Palestine has never been colonised..oh sorry yes it has by the Romans and the Ottoman Turks…..there were immigrants to Israel both Jew's and Arab's …..I didnt think they were colonisers?? The jews finally got their colonised land back? It was the arabs who atracked the jews through the early 1900s up to 1947….then there was a full scale war between 5 arab countries and Israel…..the arabs LOST …..thats my understanding. To the victor the spoils…..These people are so selective in their thinking…..its embarrasing. The jews have developed Israel into a high tech, fast growing modern economy, 6th on the bloomberg innovation index, despite the adversity from all countries around. The arabs just sit there living off the backs of Israel and the UNRWA for palestinian refugees …..the only arabs and people in the world rhat have an agency specifically for them??? Not for Sudanese, North Koreans, Syrians Ukrainians….only for Palestinians? I think these people do themselves a real injustice…..settler colonisers, apartheid etc…..they like to use words to make them and muslims in general feel good….that they are right and that they are the persecuted not the violent terrorist. Where do they live? In solidarity with their arab comrades? Yes in the western world…USA….the home of Israeli friendship….pathetic really.

Why doesn’t Germany make a reservation for Jews? Alcohol tobacco and firearms service was invented to control who? Pride in what america did to us justifies what it supports Israel to do to them. Minnesota reversed that law in 2009 or so. Just statewide but no fed rec tribe as of yet due to pushback from casino communities with corporate charters.

If our skins had the tech patents there might have been a decade of industrial war because we woulda been scared of world powers invading us more but probably after a few years our tribes woulda realized they were participating in manifest destiny and then converted america into a green energy country about 100 years ago.
