Ozzy Osbourne announced who will perform during his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2024, and Saxon announced their Hell, Fire & Steel tour on which they will perform their legendary album Wheels of Steel in its entirety and not only. Meanwhile Arch Enemy announced their new album Blood Dynasty and Marty Friedman will finally answer all of the unanswered questions about his time in Megadeth.

AI album cover of the new Grave Digger album backfires and becomes a source of discussion for the band’s fans, Kerry King announces his first ever headlining solo tour, and Soilwork, Lacuna Coil and others drop their new releases. The main dwarves of Metal Wind Rose released their new studio album Trollslayer, and their vocalist Francesco Cavalieri joins me for an interview on the show. And much more in the new Metal Digest.

    I was not happy with some of the music on Ozzys induction. Jelly Roll was a horrible choice. Billy Idol tried hard , he even seemed to put his own spin on it, but it was not what it should have been. The whole thing seemed to be thrown together! They should have had singers who could sound comparable to Ozzy. They didn't have to be Metal, just good at doing Ozzy tunes. Elton John got Metallica. I feel there are so many artists more suited to play Ozzy. I will say that Ozzy did seem touched and honored by the show, but they should have chosen better. A great chance was missed and can never be made up. Luckily, great bands and singers will continue to play Ozzy tunes live and share his message and sound with the world. Ozzy should be proud. He doesn't need the Hall of Fame to prove how important he is to his fans and Heavy Metal music or Music in general!!! He will always be with us. Thank you John Ozzy Osbourne!!!!

    I love Ozzy and I’ve actually met him at Download backstage. I’m a bit confused though because I’m disabled and I’m in a one man dark moody metal band and I let rip on my homemade 18 string guitar which is made to fit on my wheelchair and I play guitar with one hand and my head. So Ozzy could very easily sit on some sort of dark throne and sing. Or he could very easily make his wheelchair look metal as fuck as I do it without thinking. Unless Ozzy has breathing issues then I completely understand as he wouldn’t be able to sing etc.

    There are some really really good ai albums out there. "Sv​å​ra Tider" from Månskald or "Beyond The Sea" from Vikings Heart or "Infernal Pack" from Primordial Soul as example are serious killer albums. Of course you can outlisten that it's ai music, but this three examples there are as top notch as it can get actually with ai music. Only sound production could be better.
    EDIT: By the way, it's easy to find out if an album is made through ai. Because ai music doesn't gets sold as a physical album…not up until now.

    Ooouuuffff the AI vs. Cover Artists is indeed delicate, and I think is unfair to use a computer to replace talented people. But the music artists and the entourage of people seeking a piece from their production is easy. There still a lot of people looking to take advantage of musicians. Two big examples are: more often than before, old albums are re-released as re-mastered and digital albums have never been less expensive that CDs, tapes or vinyl from back in the day (kind of the same with e-books). The excuse there was "the media", the cost of those CDs, tapes or vinyl. Today is what that digital storage is super special, before we buy it/consume it? And yet, they never seem most of that money, that is why they rely on concerts and tours. So, if a musician wants to save some bucks with a cover, F'it let them be!

    possibly for bands with no money, they have an idea what they want and can use AI precisely to obtain a picture, but it would be nce to have a "raw" result and have someone human work on it ti finalize the design.
    Like the clip of Within Temptation "Bleed out", either they generated 15 second or less segments and added them or they obtained a raw clip that someone worked on after, and tbh honest I find the result horrible, things popping out of nowhere and disappearing in a pixel mess, shaky animation, either too fast or too slow … I guess for most people it can pass, but me I see CGI from start to finish.

    AI is acceptable when you can't find, or get the metal you want from real humans. If it's impossible to get what you want from humans, and AI is saying "I'll give it to you." Then people will go to AI. Now if you are an artist, there are things to consider with AI. Can you perform the metal? If so, do it! If you can't, Pay someone to do it. If you can't pay someone to do it as well as AI, and you really want to make your metal come to life, use AI. Human Performance IS the product. People want Human performance. It's why the Olympics is so popular. But some people just love Music and don't care about Human Performance. If there was a Robot Olympics, they'd watch. But it won't be huge ratings.

    I'm Both. I'm a Human performance fan. Tommy Emanual, Steve Vai are awesome. But a brilliant AI song is still awesome to sing along to. However most AI content sucks.

    I think Alyssa is a good vocalist. I've seen Arch Enemy perform with Angela and Alissa, but I declare myself an Angela fan. Saxon? I can't wait to see this band again!!!

    When they use AI to create a band, and the music that goes with it. It's a good thing that you can still tell it's fake. AI just can't play as good as humans. It's not there yet. 😂

    A.I. Album Arts answer:
    HEAVY-METAL in general doesn’t have much income; with this said A.I. can save their expenses! I wouldn’t care even doesn’t have any album arts at all; because music is different than drawing in school perspective! Stop whining about A.I. and let MAKE HEAVY METAL GREAT AGAIN!!!

    Dream Stealer was a nice surprise, with a return to old school Arch Enemy(Wages of Sin and even the Johan era) while also adding some prog elements which reminded me of old Opeth(pre Blackwater Park). I love that they're trying to return to their roots, Wages of Sin is still 1 of their(if not the) best albums, while also exploring new territory, which makes sense considering the lineup changes and natural development of all the band members as musicians. I truly wish this new album will finally unleash Alissa White-Gluz's full vocal range, as she has a ton more to offer than what she displayed thus far on Arch Enemy since War Eternal. I don't just mean her clean singing ability, which she did quite a lot of in her previous band: The Agonist, but even her harsh singing has a lot more range than she used thus far. Just look at those same The Agonist songs and compare how she sounded there and with Arch Enemy. I'm not saying she should return to that sound specifically, just that they should utilize all of her vocal range in new and interesting ways and combine it with what the rest of the band brings to the table.

    I can understand that as metal artists, bands don't get that much money and cutting costs on album art might sound attractive, but it's such a key aspect of this music. And money can't be an excuse, nowadays you have access to amazing artists all over the world, you just need to look around the right platforms and give a kid a shot for much less money than an established artist. It's a win win scenario, they get their art promoted overall and you get original art for a cheaper price (and you might get something amazing, or not, but then again, it wasn't expensive). But A.I.? C'mon…

    I’m. Happy armoured saint is supporting wasp,seen them in 85 with Metallica and they were awesome heavy and just as good as the headliner,haven’t seen them since.love death angel too but I’ve seen them twice recently

    The ozzman’s induction performers is exciting! . Nice to hear Billy Idol is involved, he is actually hardcore. Hopefully, earlier Ozzy albums contract issues are resolved before it is too late.

    I couldn’t care less about AI album covers because for me, it’s all about the music in AI doing Album covers. It’s not gonna change how the music sounds so who cares it’s all about the music not the art but the music

    I'm not a die hard Grave Digger but I don't see what's wong with the album cover. If the ones who call themself Grave Digger fans won't buy or listen the new album I think your not a Fan. C'mone don't listyto an album becyof the cover? STUPID!

    We listen to metal because it is 'real'. It's the one constant in our lives which we can rely on, especially when the rest of the world is becoming less and less real. God help us if metal bands starting embracing A.I. The whole purpose, meaning and reason metal exists in the first place will be lost forever.

    I don't get the hate for the Grave Digger album. it looked ok and the same vein as previous Grave Digger. I've seen worse album cover made from humans… And since 90% of us listen on the mp3 format anyway…

    Yeah well who gives a crap if the cover is created by AI…. It's about the band and music, not about the cover. Metallica had a black cover….so???….

    17:26 That cover is not very impressive, I miss the days when bands put a lot of thought and special treats in the album artwork. Eddie, that’s all I’m gonna say about that, Eddie 🤘🏻
