The new ceo of Netflix (new meaning not the original one) completely ruined it. It’s so sad. They started with stuff like orange is the new black and stranger things. The new CEOs goal is for it to be like tv. So they literally just want more options of single seasons of shitty shows rather than making actually good shows. Unless it ends up being a massive cultural phenomenon, they cancel it after 2 seasons. It’s so infuriating I just don’t even start shows anymore. Everytime I have recently I’m three episodes into season 1, loving it, and then I learn it’s already been canceled.

This is why I prefer my iPod Shuffle over any music streaming app ever. When I use YouTube Music, I must carefully curate my mood and song taste in a queue that I may never finish, by carefully adding the songs. This is because the shuffle feature kinda sucks and removing songs from shuffle has a lot of left-clicks while skipping would require me to enter the app (on desktop) and the mobile experience is not much better. At the same time the shuffle has all your songs shuffled and it's up to you which you skip and which you let play. I love this because while I still skip a lot, it's much more likely that I will let songs play that I would normally remove from a queue.

This is why I've dedicated to physical media again. Because I'm autistic and I like to watch the same show repeatedly. It's why i spent 60 dollars to buy every season of House MD on DVD because i knew I'd watch it repeatedly. Having a concrete library of options is cool. It also means I can go to my local library and choose something from there. It's cool. I have a limited amount of options so I can be more specific about what I'm looking for. Like it's genuinely helpful. It's also why I just focus on watching specific YouTubers at a time because scrolling through my reccomended is useless and I rarely find something I enjoy. I still choose to pay for Netflix occasionally because some of my favorite shows are one there but I tend to only pay for it for a few months because I watch the shows I like the. I forget it exists and cancel my membership
