⚠️ 0:46 ⚠️ The South African Human Rights Commission and media would deem this team hopelessly far too white and would make every effort to make it more "represented" by reducing it to less than 10% whites.

i hope common folks realize at some point that there is is only so much you can do with closed models.
i am pretty sure that they commoditized and privatized too quickly, there is so much more they could've done, had they kept their research and models open.

I think that people have missed the importance of the Apple M3 Max studio. If someone can come up with that same chipset and ram in a household set that immediately on a local network ie your phones and computers can easily seamlessly connect is all local and secure……there is going to be a market for that. The EU prioritizes privacy, well except France, and most Americans are paranoid enough to want this kind of privacy.

stakes for AI is huge. AGI will be enormous.
stakes are so high and competition is at the expected level.

    This is capitalism.

    Evolve or high.
    Grow or be weak.

There is no place for the weaks.

Sam’s answer says it all: controlling a billion users is more valuable than advancing AI itself. This isn’t about truth or progress; it’s about monopolizing attention. The future isn’t being built to liberate minds, it’s being built to own them.

😂 Grok 3 is steamrolling over Sam’s face at this point. Oh boy is this Grok 3 thing going to blow minds as soon as their API for third parties opens up later. ❤👍

I think we have found the limits of AI intelligence, at least with today's technology. Take a random human, and give him an objective that is vague and hard to solve. That person might spend months and months trying to figure out and try different approaches and go research more data that was not there, basically it will be a continuous snowball of trial and error and trying to solve something.

This simple statement right here, no AI in the world we have today can do this. Our AI are all exceedingly episodic. You ask a question it gives an answer, you want to do something it does multi-agent and solve that one thing, but it does not contemplate. It does not think longer-term and ask what's the next question I should answer that might be even better than the original question. It does not question whether the original question is not worthy to answer and maybe a different one should be pursued and even that one should be questioned and so on and so forth in a continuous cycle. This is what true intelligent human being is doing, and any humans will do it effortlessly. However the way we have AI today are episodic, it could even be session based, but it definitely does not have to endurance and contemplation and long-term problem solving and problem seeking attribute of an normal human being.

So how can we think AI as we have it today, is anything close to AGI? It is only a shadow of an intelligence for one single session, it does not last, it cannot remember longer, and it does not seek out new answers and ideas and data that is absent from its own being. We keep saying AI fails because you did not give it data, but you never say that to a human, if a human fails you blame it for not seeking the data correctly, see the difference? We are setting up so that AI cannot fail because if it fails it's a human that fails, that's a stupid setup.

Ugh! It kills me when Altman compares the transistor to AI!
The transistor created jobs for decades. AI, Wii replace a minimum of 50 million jobs I far less than 1 decade! These two things have NOTHING in common.
I recommend my book, THE NEW SOCIAL CONTRACT: AI & THE FUTURE OF WORK.
    Google David L Walley- author.

Not interested in “closed”AI anymore. I really enjoyed the evolution to 4.5 but deleted my account for better open source models months ago.
This capitalistic mindset is exactly what will lead to the dystopian future we need to avoid. I don’t care how Sam dresses the pig up and puts lipstick on it.
