How to reconcile a decent anthem with a movie about a group of dysfunctional idiots? Half of these characters belonged in a mental hospital and the other half, in prison.

Jesus Christ what happened to this video?!? The volume shifts up like 40-50% every time it transitions to song. I can either have the music at a decent volume and not hear a single word Todd says, or I listen to Todd and blast my eardrums out every 30 seconds when the music plays.

In the late-mid 90s, I worked the counter at a video rental place in NYC that filed its movies by director (don’t get too impressed, I was usually at the one on the north end of Bleecker). A common occurrence on closing shifts was Courtney Love showing up with a group of young hangers-on, all pretty blitzed, rifling through the bins and laughing together at the movies, until eventually zeroing in on ST ELMO’S FIRE and being like “oh my god guys, wouldn’t it be HILARIOUS if we watched this?!?” then renting it, grabbing the night’s friends and spiriting away to watch a movie about older Gen X having their first coming-of-age crises.

I found it really sad even then.

Say what you will about Joel Schumacher but “The Lost Boys” is one of the best vampire films ever made!!! (And “Flatliners” is pretty dope too. Has a cool premise & is creepy as hell)

Did anyone notice the quick clip of John Parr & Meatloaf playing guitar. John Parr (from England) playing an American flag guitar & Meatloaf (From the USA) playing a British flag guitar

As a Brit, finding out JohnParr is English was an enormous shock. I always assumed he was some sort of big deal American star who just never crossed over here, with that one exception.

I LOVED "Naughty, Naughty!!" I thought it was great!! I admit it hasn't aged well, though. 🤔 I also used to love "Man In Motion" (the real title as far as I'm concerned), but then, of course, it was WAY overplayed and therefore I never need to ever hear it again.

I figure John Parr is like TOP GEAR/THE GRAND TOUR's Richard Hammond—an American who was somehow mistakenly born in the United Kingdom.
