    The HAIR is a problem? Lawn trash bag with plastic sash aesthetic had its moment for a VERY short while.

    Guitar A+++

    Space age Love song A+++

    I sense from other media the hair stylist is kind of a brute. Not a good leader.

    (IMO)

    They are absolutely NOT a one hit wonder. Telecommunication was a big hit in the clubs. Space Age Love Song went top 30 in the US, Wishing went top 10 in their home UK, and The More You Live The More You Love went top 30 in the UK and top 10 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

    I saw them for the cost of 50p at Doncaster Outlook UK 1982 I think?. Good band. Then they went to the US, like Space Hog from Leeds, 'Couldn't get away!' But they did.

    Hearing (and being reminded of the existence of) their "Space Age Love Song" made me revisit DJ Shadow's "You Can't Go Home Again"
    That one always sounded to me like every New Wave song ever, in one convenient listen; specifically, like A Flock Of Seagulls getting arrested by The Police

    will never not piss me off how the US tracklist for their debut album got mangled, with even a song getting taken out altogether… either the label higher-ups didnt know it was a concept album or they knew & just didnt care lol

    I heard “Wishing (If I had a Photograph)” for the first time in a grocery store at the tail end of 2022 and honestly, the fact that this got slept on as hard as it did is a crime.

    This was my “Automatic Man”.

    I can't how much I'm delighted having found your Channel. That is so instructive and fun. I can't figure if I've already binge-watched but i take the risk to submit two artists that I'm not quite sure (even more risky, so) if they are one hit wonder : Nik Kershaw – The Riddle and Alphaville – Big In Japan. Please continue 'cause I'm afraid I may be addicted, now

    Their "Best Of" from the "We Are The 80s" VH1 Classic series is pretty decent. If you are interested and/or unfamiliar with A Flock Of Seagulls or in New Wave, you really can't go wrong.
    Their three Top 40 U.S. Hits:
    – I Ran (So Far Away) 1982 #9
    – Space Age Love Song 1982 #30
    – Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You 1983 #26
    But "The More You Live The More You Love", Telecommunications" and especially "Nightmares" are as solid as those.
