From the UK can confirm they're still semi-big over here, headlining second stages of major rock festivals regularly. Mad to think with the cultural similarities there's still huge differences between us and the USA

Came back to see if Justin had commented on this video yet… He trolls youtube searching for people reacting or reviewing his own songs to pop up in the comments lol

    Wanna hear an awesome fact?
The Darkness was one of the opening acts for Robbie Williams's "Weekends of Mass Distraction" tour.
Which includes the legendary Knebworth '03.
Seriously. Look up Knebworth '03 and you will know what 125,000 people looks like.

Fun anecdote: in high school I hung out with the emos and the punk rockers. One of my good friends was being hassled by yet another teacher who said something along the lines of "you would be happier if you tried to listen to happier music" referencing her band t shirt. The shirt that she was wearing? The Darkness

I was in the UK at the height of their fame and they were inescapable. But they were nobodies in the the US. I saw them at a small club in San Francisco cuz I was an immediate fan and they put on an incredible show. It was like an arena show in a place that held 300 people tops.

I remember in 2018/2019 I explained how I heard this song on the radio or maybe my mums mp3 and I was like “the singer sounds like Freddy mercury and I think he says thing called love” I never felt more happy when my mum after a few attempts found me it, I then years later found out the lead singer worked with my fave band, sparks

3RD BASS IS TECHNICALLY A ONE HIT WONDER BECAUSE POP GOES THE WEASEL IS THEIR ONLY TOP 40 SONG. THE GAS FACE WAS POPULAR BUT IT DIDN'T CHART ON THE TOP 40

On 2003, my brother was in a band with a guy who said "The Darkness is the straight Queen, or the gay AC/DC." It was so refreshing to see a band like this at the time. So much fun.

“Christmas Time” give a me ENORMOUS goosebumbs to this day, I have so many beautiful memories indelibly tied to it. I’ve spent years not being able to hear it because of the emotions it brought up.

Todd didn’t mention that they walked off an episode of the radio show Loveline (in 2004 right at the height of their fame) because they claimed the content* of the show was too dark and disturbing, lol.

*Loveline was a sex/medical advice call-in show, and often did feature some pretty heavy subject matter but it’s weird it offended them as they painted themselves as being so edgy
