Nux Cerberus – Finally, a Chinese guitar FX unit worth buying

Benn Jordan | October 4, 2025

You can tell this isn’t a paid review when I horribly mispronounce the company with a piece of dog hair stuck to my head.

Several times I’ve heard you say show me a multi effects pedal with good reverb. And every time I just think “Helix”. They’re great.

Hello. thanx for the review! could you please make a review from a synth prespective for this pedal-mfx?

also can i plug a synyth in delay jack-plug and a drum machine in dist-plug? wil it mix them? work as a 2 chennel mixer?

Got 2 Nux pedals, amp academy and Masumune…gonna trade in the Masamune in for a JHS Pulp and Peel V4 it's ok I just want the JHS for the rat, boost and the XLR extras and it sounds better.

Sorry if this was said, I've been on a mission looking for the answer elsewhere.
Will the Cerberus support line level from a synth without needing a reamp?

Anyone know how to sync the delay to a DAW? I tried hitting up NuX and they deemed it a silly question and quit communicating with me… I may sell it out of spite 😉

Trump is a God and I won't hear a bad word said about him…
    C H I N A

    …. I'm not subtle.

    The drives are so dark!!
Btw on the delay it's 60s/70s/80s.
    60s=Tape, 70s=Analog, 80s=Digital.
Just in case you want to go back and delete or edit anything….look in the manual.

A lot of products say there made in the USA, UK etc but they don't mention a majority of their components come from China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia etc., in my country very little is made locally so I focus on if the product is worth the expense and if it works properly.

Agreeing with Dillinger on the low gain is more gain hahah volume>gain. Air moving, is heavier than distortion. Compare the fizzing of your soda, to the girth of your soda burps.

I take everything I buy apart, its the best way to learn about it and become familiar with it and it's quality (or lack thereof) and I've found some genuinely found some fantastic "home grown chinese" products that were completely original and that I could tell were a labor of love and I'm super happy to see that kind of thing. Just like with my IEMS and dac/amp. All chinese, all fantastic quality and affordable. Oh and who said you can't take people apart? I never got the memo. Fantastic JOKE.

Hi there all, I'm doing some research on this pedal. I just watched this video which says the headphone output doesn't utilise the cab sim –> https://youtu.be/prib5WNfBr4 is this accurate? If so, how do you use this pedal at home while everyone is at sleep and do the tones and volumes sound representative of when you use it playing live?

…or you can save money and get a Boss GT-1, with many more features. A few years ago I downsized from my GT-100 to the GT-1 and added the SY-300 and it's about the same size as the GT-100.

“Less is more,” so true for so many things, and something you only learn with age and experience. Sometimes I think the main point of owning more gear is to use more of it all less (e.g. using 10% of 5 things typically leads to much better results than 50% of 2 things). Much like cooking. My fav reverb is still Vermona Dual Spring Reverb. Don’t really need much beyond that aside from some fab filter sometimes.

HOLY SHIT! You're the guy from The Flashbulb?! I randomly stumbled upon Opus At The End Of Everything a year or 4 or 5 ago when The Trees In Juarez popped up in some mix. Been listening to it from time to time. Awesome man!

Benn I suggest you pick up the NUX Tape Core pedal, excellent RE-201 space echo simuation I love love love it more than my Boss RE-20. There are extra parameters for wow/flutter that you can mess with via MIDI over the USB interface! The MIDI control is undocumented, but they have a software editor for the extra parameters & just use a MIDI monitor software to get the values. I use touchOSC to tweak it on the fly from my phone, so rad.

It would be great if NUX put some of the functionality of the MG300 into a small metal stage worthy platform like the Cerberus. But sometimes it's nice to have limitations without option overload.
