Cos he couldn't play bass
@ericbrewer2409
February 20, 2026 at 5:34 am
Nikki was too primitive at bass for them. He like glitter rock, they liked Judas Preist.

what if?
instead of Corabi, they got in Pearcy.
Not that wouldve been…..

Nikki Six and the RATT crew do not mixx. They are like water and cocaine. The don't mixx. I could go on but i digress. ✌ Peace ✌

It was THE MIGHTY METAL HOUR on Kmet or Klos..the opening salvo of those power chords to U Think Ur Tough blew my 13 year old mind..

That would not have been a good pairing!
1. Nikki Sixx is not a bass player or writer.
2. Juan Croucier is better writer and bassist!
3. RATT -way more style and rhythm than Crüe!
4. Sixx cannot sing Juan can sing well!
5. RATT dodged a bullet with Sixx decision 😅

Dead End Kids did it first…..look em up.

February 20, 2026 at 5:34 am
It worked out for the better. Bobby Blotzer was a way better drummer than Tommy Lee. Robbin sings better than Vince. Warren is a waaayyy better guitarist than Mick, but Mick was perfect for the Crue.

I love Ratt and Motley and this would kind have been a great group and can only imagine. Well, we got two great groups out of it. RIP Robbin. I know that both Robbin and Nikki where using, but with the inner fights within Ratt, I just wonder if this line up he would have been more happy and would have cleaned up with Nikki.
@ErWo75
February 20, 2026 at 5:34 am
Would Robbin have been the only guitarist? He was a very good rhythm player, but I think his soloing ability was very limited.

Would of been interesting at least to hear one song they wrote together
@TroofShoDuzHurt
February 20, 2026 at 5:34 am
Raftl would’ve had a way worse bass player if Nikki had joined, but at least he wouldn’t make those gay moves. But it would’ve let Nikki play with a good guitarist… Much better than the one he plays with now. Equally bad vocalists

Nikki gave ribbon nickname the King

Both bands sold millions of albums, Motley had more success but I'll take Ratt any day, RIP King!🤘

I must admit, as a fan of both bands, it would've been interesting to hear what a Pearcy / Crosby/ Sixx / Lee combination could generate in terms of musical output. Then again, I can't help but feel a band like that with 4 volatile personalities would've imploded soon after forming, especially considering Nikki's and Robbin's problems with alcohol and heroin at the time.

Great insight Full! Love your channel. Rattley Crue sounds pretty good to me….. It’s really odd the the two least talented of all those guys Pearcy and Nikki were the ones spearheading the charge to crest bands. They were simply leaders of the pack and it worked out well for both. Ratt and the Crue were the bands of my youth and college years

I'm kinda glad it didn't happen cuz we ended up with 2 great bands. Imo Juan was a way better match for Ratt, as both a bassist and backup vocalist.
Plus Nikki was the engine without which Crüe might not have done what they did, also Mick and Tommy were a perfect fit.

RATT is so much better without Nicki ruining it.

Ratt was twice the band Crue ever was.
@danstarr374
February 20, 2026 at 5:34 am
they did use to hang out on the strip…Stephen rehearsed at his aunt's garage in Culver City then…they were a local Culver City band at that time….first Mickey RATT had Chris Hagar on guitar…that broke up, then Stephen got Jake E. Lee from San Diego to come up, & they played Troubador opening up for Crue on Tommy's birthday in 1981…that RATT was Jake, David Alford on drums, Matt Thorne on bass, a guy named Bob on other guitar…that broke up too, so Stephen got Robin to come up from San Diego & they started writing, so this jam situation musta been then before they got Warren & Blotz…the way it went they are all better off…

November 1983 I moved to LA at 18 years old. I lived there for 7 years. Best place on the planet to be young. I seen all those 80s bands. What great memories, now I won’t go see them. Don’t ruin my youth for their wallet.

It was very cool to be a part of that time in Hollywood … All the musicians went in London, then through and out of London lol We all starting off with VanHalen blowing up at the end of High School then into the 80's … It was an awesome time to be young and alive !!!

I remember Frazier Smith on KLOS playing Take Me to the Top or You Think You're Tough around 7:30am as I was getting ready for school in early 1983. That got me pumped up.

Finally, something I have never heard about from the early days on the Strip!
IMO, although a great songwriter/guitar player Crosby’s playing style never really suited Nikki’s writing style. As for Stephon on vocals, I’m not even going to pretend to say that I know how that would turn out, lol.
