    Hey, a couple things…

    1. Skillet started as a Christian band, which makes that Invincible song make more sense.

    2. I like your Ocasek theory. On the Cars' last album when they reunited, there's barely a solo to be found. Makes the album way weaker than it needed to be. I like your theory. Wish I could come to that Hallowe'en show. Love those Easton solos.

(Easton did other cool stuff that made those Cars tracks sound so good. "Up And Down" and "Heartbeat City" have some great Easton mood work.)

Hearing you toss off those Elliot Easton licks was impressive, Pat. EE made every note and bend count, in a band that wasn’t really about him, but should have been, like a new wave Don Felder.

I'm old enough and was enough of a Christian rock geek to remember when Skillet were a derivative grunge band and then when they became a derivative industrial metal band. Whatever the fuck they are now, they really are a band for people who only listen to Christian music.
I gotta admit, I'm kinda sucked in by Jen Ledger's vocals whenever I come across their new-ish stuff. But their main singer has written a book called "Wimpy, Weak and Woke". What more do you need to know?

    Dibs needs more drum machines!

I love that Gibbons, crusty old Texas blues guy goes to Europe and hears Depeche Mode and is like "hell yeah this is what we were missing!" and it worked! That's some genius right there.

I’m still annoyed that U2 forcibly put their album on my iPhone. I hate U2, so this move didn’t really make me like them any more.

Foetus released his final Foetus album last year on Christmas, I’m legit torn up about it, but he’s had a long career and maybe he will make more music in other styles under other names if he feels like it.
