Caved and bought one today. Was on the fence cause I was abit dissapointed on the not saving highscore feature, but the displays on these things are so much better than on the pocket player pro (which I also have)

MyArcade really outdid Blaze/Hyper Mega on this one. Even the keychain looks cuter compared to theirs.

Have you seen the casino themed unit they have? It seems so random that I’d actually like to see it in action lol

Like the other pocket Space Invaders entries, I'm disappointed that SI never gets any additional games included (well, other than the Super Impulse keychain, but that requires some sneaky soldering), when there are obvious other entries in the series that should've easily been bundled. Frankly, that bothers me much more than the high score not saving.

On the other hand, it looks like it has the proper look and feel of SI. The last invader moves faster to the right than to the left as tradition demands, so I'm willing to cut some slack. I'm putting this on my wishlist.

Honestly the screen looks every bit as good or better than the tabletop version with the nice cabinet and mirror effect. I own that and its very nice but mostly a novelty because the gameplay screen is so damn small

Hey Jon. I'm not sure if they used the original Arcade ROM, but it seems a lot, it's a good deal.
About the HI-Scores, keep in mind that even the original coin op didn't saved it: they were lost every time the cabinet was powered off (Making us angry back then)… So it's faithful to the original.

Most of these seem to be arcade ROMs. The one with the worst authenticity for me so far is Ms Pacman. Some sounds seem a bit off. This could have to do with the emulator that they are using though. They may be using samples instead of sound emulation on some of these (like old MAME used to) and the samples are not high quality. Still having an arcade machine on a keychain is pretty amazing, I urge anyone to look at what the old arcade boards looked like (hint, they were HUGE). If you went back in time to the early 1980's with one of these people would think you were doing some kind of magic.

Finally! A really good hand-held "keychain" version of Space Invaders! From what I can tell, it does appear to be either the actual arcade ROM, or a very faithful reproduction of it. Much, MUCH better than that other one that was recently shown. However, this begs the question. I am willing to bet all those MyArcade "Pixal Pocket Pro" units are more than likely all identical hardware internally, just the shells are different to match game theming. There may be some minor hardware differences between the vertical and horizontal layouts, but I would be willing to bet the core hardware is identical (CPU/GPU/memory).
