This was a good week for metal!
Fen – Elemental Part One: Mourning Earth
Nekrodawn – Covenant of Carnage
Azatoth – Carnal Lust of Blasphemy
Mob Rules – Stories From Verdant Vale(EP)
Noumena – Maanääri
Street Tombs – Existence is Corruption
I enjoyed all of these releases but Carnal Lust of Blasphemy and Maanaari are the two that stood out the most to me ☕

The Mourning Earth by Fen is absolutely fantastic. I had seen the album go up for pre-order a few months ago. I had never heard of them until I saw the album artwork and only kind of kept them in mind. I gave their album a thorough listen on bandcamp twice over the weekend and was absolutely sold on what they were doing. Their post-rock elements are incredibly well integrated into the atmospheric black elements that I almost don't pay attention to the transition as the music just flows well. Will definitely check out azatoth as I've never heard of them before. Cheers Lindsay.
