Death Collector, Burner & Membrance were this weeks favourites for me. All totally awesome.
Linkin Park ? Metal ? Of course they were.
Like some bands tho, the attraction of commercialism is a big tease. They arenโ€™t the first or last to be dragged from their metal starters. But yes, they were metal. And a top band at the time. ๐Ÿ‘

In my childhood "metal" went from Def Leppard to Napalm Death's Scum. I don't see how Linkin Park's first two albums may go outside the boundariesโ€ฆ Too cheesy for some, but definitely metal and yes they make for great gateway albums.

Thanks for the new recs; lisening to a Krigsgrav track as I type this.

IMO, Linkin Park are metal, but not necessarily metal aimed at metalheads (loosely, pop metal for the Noughties, as Bon Jovi was pop metal for the '80s).

Iโ€™ve never listened to Linkin Park but I donโ€™t think a band necessarily needs to be metal as a gateway to metal band. I consider AC/DC, Aerosmith and even Bon Jovi as bands that led me towards metal.

Love the new Cannibal Corpse song. Also thought the previous album was great, not sure about Linkin Park, will always have a soft spot for them as it was one of the bands that got me into Heavy Metal (despite never listening to them anymore). I think they were probably a gateway band for many

I adore melodeath/ black metal combinations (example, Shylmagoghnar) so definitely going to check Krigsgrav, even if they incorporate a genre that Iยดm not too much of a fan (doom)

Fear Factory as always deliverying the goods, and terminating our brains with their sheer heavyness >:D (The Industrialist went from one of my least favorite records to my favorite of the post 2010ยดs records, this re-recording is amazing!)

Btw, I know this is the second time I comment on a video of yours, but I check your reviews quite often, theyยดre awesome and quite objective even if bias sometimes kinda creeps out lol (thatยดs cool weยดre all biased sometimes), so keep up the good work!

PD: Linking Park IS metal, and even in their later career albums minus the last one they have made some heavy tunes, but their peak definitely were Hybrid Theory and Meteora.

I'm just listenting into Decrowned and really, really like what I am hearing. Apart from that, I only listened to the new Jag Panzer (which I like well enough for it's nostalgic value) and Pyramaze (kinda like more accessible Evergrey in my book, and I absolutely love it). Regarding LP, I never had any problems putting them under the Metal Genre, as far as Meteora and Hybrid Theory are concerned. After that, it was more like Alternative Rock with some Metal elements to me. Still liked them well enough, but to this day, those two first albums belong to my all-time favorite albums no matter the genre. Absolute masterpieces, as far as I am concerned.
