In this powerful Native Bidaské episode, filmmaker Ryan Flynn joins host Kaili Berg to discuss “You’re No Indian”, a new documentary exposing the growing crisis of tribal disenrollment.

He's absolutely right, no evidence stands up against a corrupt tribal council.

The original “rules” of enrollment and recognition were a continuation of the Federal government’s efforts to erase Indigenous culture. Sadly, the impact on Tribal culture is destructive.

The next film, which could be an easy parallel for the first one, would be CLOSING enrollment. I am more than willing to talk about my family's personal experience with not being able to enroll. My cousin, who was long-lost, has been found and wants to enroll in our tribe…but enrollment is CLOSED! WTH!!

There are also MOLES injected into tribal council, who tend to influence and taint the minds of the other council members!

When a fellow Native is behind this, it's even worse! My tribe's history includes backstabbing within the tribe as well, from Chiefs who went behind the backs of other chiefs and made deals with the Europeans…which is why there is an entire department fighting to get funds from broking treaties.

Disenrollment is a problem, just as closing enrollment is! It's GREED at the end of the day!
