As a father of a (now 28y.o.) kid, I can attest it's not all that bad. "Papa" was the first word she said.

My daughter was so NOT interested in me, her mom. But dad? Yes. That's the one. She didn't even like to drink from me. She preferred to drink my pumped milk from a cup from dad, slightly cooler than my body temperature.

My second daughter never accepted me from DAY1, I did leave mum for nearly 9 months. So when I showed up, I just wasn’t welcomed!!!
Problem for my baby:
U look like me
U r strong like me
U r great at sports like me
U r lucky just like me
I made sure ur middle name is mine
U r finished little girl
Now let’s go get u booked on kiddy triathlon
U R ME LITTLE LADY!!!!!
Ps: she is sat next to me, as I write this!!!

I agree with many of your points, but divorce rates don't exactly line up with the narrative. That could very well be for different reasons, but being more involved with the kids won't necessarily save a marriage is all I'm pointing out.

Julie should have another baby and then fix whatever mistakes she made with the others … other? others? How many are there right now? Whatever – the last child is always the best – I should know.

Why would mom need better help when she has mirror Julie?

The irony: most babies learn "dada" first because it's easier for them to pronounce than "mama." 😂

I’m possibly a rare beast.
I’m a boomer, and I changed all of my daughter’s nappies, and did all of her night feeds.
I also spent a lot of time with her throughout her childhood.
My ex-wife, her mother was very hands off, and was an alcoholic. She said that she was incapable of changing a disposable nappy, and that when I came home from work it was my turn to look after my daughter until I went back to work the next day.
I never complained, as it meant that I got to spend a lot of quality time with my daughter. I was also there for all of her firsts, her first word was “dad.” 😊
My daughter is 37 now and we are very close. She no longer has contact with her mother. She even left the country to escape her. It turned out that she was very abusive to my daughter when I wasn’t around to see it.
It wasn’t until years later that my daughter told me about it. I feel so bad for not realising at the time. 😢

Perhaps it’s the earrings that confused the baby. “You’re not mummy”

I love that the baby is wearing a watch. At three months old, time management is critical!

Baby naps are easy, you get them snuggled into the crook of your arms, grab that controller and sway as you play baldurs gate 3 with no sound and the brightness turned down. True story.

I picked my grandson up from daycare and spent hours with him until his mom got off of work.
Every day that I picked him up – he'd always look at me like "and who are you???"
After about he was a year old then he started smiling and reaching for me.
Every child is different.
