Gerard depardieu has some troubling interviews that he blames on language barriers. He did very bad things in france.

Don't 🍇 women…. or anyone else. Not children or men either.

    Screw YouTube,
!😠 Certain things can be said by creators in videos that can't be said in the comments and vise versa. I know from experience because I quoted the exact dialogue from one of these videos and got a strike against me by HypocriteTube. The unspeakable plot of this movie is here in the comments.🤦💯

Movies used to be waay more cavalier about this stuff. People saw Manhattan in theatres. People saw American Beauty. I was recalling a film recently and it was a comedy from the 80s that implied that a school aged girl was in a relationship with her teacher and then included her seducing a motorist to steal his car. I think it was PG. Europe seemed like it had different standards. if you've seen 'The Professional' (or 'Leon') from the 1990s, the director's cut for that this should have gotten the french director (Luc Besson) added to a watchlist. His former wife claimed the film was modelled on their relationship. When they started dating, Besson was 32 and his future wife was 17 years younger. The actress who would play the role she contends was based on her was Natalie Portman. The film was released in 94 and Portman was born in 81. It was striking when Hollywood had its reckoning. Bruce Willis, Mia Farrow, Madonna and ScarJo had worked with Besson. Kate Winslet, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Ewan McGregor, Jodie Foster, had worked with Roman Polanski after his crimes.

Similarly, a lot of rock stars from the 70s and 80s are known for… iffiness. Sable star was known enough to be the inspiration for a character in Almost Famous. And she got a troubling reference in Iggy Pop's song "Look Away".

It's not even a matter of aging, this was weird even at the time.

Frankly, it was not an unusual theme for a French film at the time though, but that they thought it would be a great idea to remake it for audiences beyond that is the very peculiar part.

Hollywood loves to tell on itself. Shirley Temple declaring her love to her "dad," Pretty Baby, Cuties, Drag Kids – Hollywood think it's normal to sexualize children. My mother was very pro-pedophile and called them "victims of a puritanical society." It's just their "sexual identity" and what's the most important thing in life? Sex, of course!!

I remember seeing this at the after-school program of my catholic elementary school. There was a very on-the-nose song that Depardieu performed in the movie that all us kids began singing the rest of the day. Also, we were little back then but we still understood the innuendo, the movie made it very clear.

I'll be the first to say the US is overly prudish and Europe has a much better attitude about sexuality. But this movie? France should apologize
