This tour has turned out to be a huge money grab. Shame on Alex and Geddy. So much for the working man eh?

Hey Pete, another sad day in music. Just found out that Ace Frehley passed away today. RIP Ace. He was 74.

The only way this will sound good is if they lower the key significantly on all of the songs because Geddy's voice has deteriorated a lot. They played "Closer To The Heart" at the South Park anniversary concert in 2023 in the original key and he sounded like he was dying.

Show me that Anika can carry Neil’s water before I commit to $600++ for a mid- level ticket.

Well, ultimately, it's all about money. The really bad thing about the completely overpriced ticket prices is the fact that very young rock fans are often excluded. That's not going to generate new fans…

I'm not a Rush fanatic but like their music and love them as people. I think Geddy and Alex's deep friendship and love for one another was a big part of why they decided to do a tour – they missed each other's company musically and wanted to play the songs again. I'm sure it'll be great.

When Geddy named Anika Nilles, I was ecstatic and nearly cried. I've been listening to her work for 3-4 years, and she's fantastic. There's a good reason Jeff Beck had her join his 2022 tour (along with bassist Rhonda Smith, who also played with Prince). Nilles added new things to the songs that legendary drummer Simon Phillips played on the original recordings. She will do just fine.

You know, for all these supposed fans that are butt.Hurt about the legacy… GOOD, THERE'S ONE LESS PERSON AT THE COMPUTER. TRYING TO GET TICKETS THAT ARE GONNA BE HARD. ENOUGH TO GET ALREADY. THANK YOU.

I can't fault the guys for this, and good luck to them. But….. can Alex cut it anymore? I've heard him really struggle when guest starring on live shows performing old Rush tracks. Man I hope so, that would be a sad image to leave behind

Out of USA/CAN only Brazil, Germany and UK dates? São Paulo, Munich and London so far and perhaps the only dates out of North America.

Damn, I hope they record new music. Doesn't have to be "Rush". Alex and Geddy or whatever…

Absolutely all for it! I kinda wish they had gone with two drummers though. The ultimate respect.

My guess is that Alexś arthritis is doing better (there are better medications these days), and that he can play well once again! This is great news! IF they record another album (dont expect it), I wonder who would pen the lyrics? Or am I a step ahead of myself here?

They should do what they want to do! If this scratches the itch and then they are done, I hope people respect the decisions

Its no good talking about a drummer who is irrelevant. The problen is no band can overcome the deterioration in the singing voice. And Geddy's voice was awful 10 years ago. Sad.

As a German, I am incredibly proud that Rush chose a German drummer for their tour! Anika works at the Pop Academy in Mannheim and has already performed many times, including with Jeff Beck on his last tour! She just has to be careful not to make the mistake of trying to copy Neil, because that would end in disaster! Neil was one of a kind!
It would be fantastic, of course, if the band would also give concerts in Europe, and I'm sure they would fill the biggest venues with ease!
I think it's impossible to completely abandon the songs from the seventies, if only because of Geddy's voice; they were far too important for that! I could rather imagine that the song catalogue from the nineties would be neglected, because Rush didn't exactly set the world alight musically during that period! Either way, it would be a celebration!

Saw the final show w Neil at the Forum, they just SLAYED that night. So thrilled they’re beginning this next short chapter here where Neil lived. They’ve done soo many gigs there, and it’s a rare sweet space for big shows.
Anika Nilles is such a bold and refreshing choice. Her range, vitality and technique is outstanding. Like Neil she’s jazzy too. And not a boring obvious “rocker dude”.
Can’t wait for the shows!

Anything concerning Rush would go viral. But after Neil passed no one and that's everyone wanted Rush to ever tour again without Neil. Much like Van Halen going on without Eddie. But it seems now everyone is all for it. How surprising how fans change their mind. And if Geddy's voice is shot, so what. Then he's no different than all the other old vocalists out there right now continuing to tour with horrible sounding voices. Geddy can pull it off as long as he doesn't try to hit those high notes. But also, he hasn't toured for around 10 years so it'll be interesting to see what he sounds like now being 10 years older. But it just won't matter to Rush fans. The band is touring again, even if it's a one off tour to celebrate Neil. All shows will be a sell out for sure. As far as how long the show will be Alex hinted at a couple of hour show which for Rush is short so that'll be another interesting part of this tour if they will stick to the 2 hour format or stretch it out to closer to 3 hours to include more songs from their career.
I think writing new material might be a stretch since Neil was their primary lyricist. That would be the key in writing new songs with that same feel and depth that Neil provided in the songs he wrote. But, one can never say never but it would be cool to get a new Rush album down the road.
And I know I won't be going. The closest show for me is Madison Square Garden in New York and the lowest price ticket is $775 all the way up to $5k. As a fan of Rush I have no desire to spend that kind of money to see any band. I saw them on their last tour and that was good enough for me. A lot can then be said for the outrageous ticket prices. With that it would seem that Alex and Geddy might need the money just based on the ticket prices.
Let's put that in perspective – Madison Square Garden can hold 19k for a concert and even at the lowest price of $775 that would be a total of $14,725,000.

I'm very excited for this. I'm amazed at how many haters there out there in the prog-space about this. it's whatever Geddy and Alex feel comfortable with…who are we to criticize? And Anika is a beast,,,,,I think she'll be jus fine!
