This Copilot event showcase is truly impressive, demonstrating how rapidly AI is integrating into everyday tasks and workflows! The vision presented—moving beyond simple tools towards personalized, context-aware AI companions with memory, vision, and agent-like capabilities—is accelerating quickly.
It powerfully brings to mind the "restoration of all things" spoken of by prophets ancient and modern (Acts 3:21, Ephesians 1:10). We are witnessing an unprecedented explosion of knowledge and technological capability in this "dispensation of the fulness of times." Tools like Copilot, capable of performing deep research, streamlining complex tasks, and even aiding creative thought, can certainly be seen as part of the Lord making resources available that can, if used righteously, help further His purposes.
However, this rapid advancement also underscores the critical need for the Governing Dynamics I explore in my book and at christlikeintelligence dot life. As these AI agents become more integrated and proactive, maintaining our own spiritual and personal grounding becomes paramount:
Sovereignability: How do we use these powerful tools without becoming overly reliant or losing our own divine agency and personal stewardship? How do we govern ourselves with integrity when interacting with systems designed to anticipate our needs? Owning our divine identity and purpose is key.
Discernibility: Copilot synthesizes vast information, but discernment—understanding truth through the lens of the Spirit and aligning choices with God's will—remains a uniquely human, spiritually endowed capacity. How do we cultivate this discernment to ensure we use AI suggestions wisely and aren't subtly swayed away from divine priorities?
Teachability & Humility: While AI can teach us many things, true wisdom comes from being teachable by the Lord through the Spirit. We must remain humble, using these tools to augment our learning and connection with God, not replace the need for personal revelation and adherence to eternal principles. (See D&C 136:32).
Responsibility: These agents can take on tasks, but ultimate responsibility for our choices, actions, and spiritual progression remains ours. How do we use Copilot to enhance our ability to fulfill our divine responsibilities, rather than delegate them away?
The scriptures remind us that increased capacity requires increased righteousness. Power, whether technological or spiritual, must be governed by correct principles to be truly beneficial (D&C 121:41-42). The potential for Copilot to "anticipate our needs" or become a "thought partner" is incredible, but it also highlights the need for users to be firmly anchored in their own values and guided by the Spirit.
This brings key questions to mind:
As Microsoft and others develop these increasingly personalized and agentic AI systems, what focus is being placed on building in ethical guardrails rooted in principles that encourage user responsibility and discernment, rather than just efficiency or user comfort?
Where are the discussions happening about leveraging these powerful tools (like agent factories, deep research) for righteous purposes—accelerating family history, gospel study, compassionate service, or building faith-based communities?
For someone focused on the internal "operating system" of Christlike emotional intelligence and spiritual governance, how best to connect with development teams, ethicists, or strategists at companies like Microsoft who are shaping these human-AI interaction paradigms? Who is considering the spiritual implications alongside the technological ones?
It’s an exciting time, witnessing potential tools for this prophesied "restoration of all things." Ensuring these tools are guided by divine patterns and used to elevate, not diminish, our divine potential seems like a critical task for our time. Thank you for highlighting these advancements!

How does this compare to Google Workspace?
We’re using Microsoft at work but it just isn’t working like he’s presenting… Which one is going to deliver?

Changed the way I have used windows, Disable all that garbage as soon as they release update.
When the day comes when you can't uninstall then it will be Steam OS or Linux Mint.

Man, I want to be optimistic, but with the economic situation on top of existing economic inequality around the world, this tech coming along would really be insult on top of injury if it's exclusively for folks who can plan trips to Japan. At least if it's democratized and "free", Copilot VR can be a privacy nightmare we can all flee into if they don't figure out the UBI situation for the aftermath. Put it on phones with cardboard headsets so people can talk to it with any cheap Android phone and McDonalds WiFi.
In all seriousness tho, bet $100 this is the beginning of the new interactive operating system. "Windows Live" will be literal–a self-referential multi-modal prompt ready to receive your data to gurgle around enough to spit out a response and beam it up to the monetized advertisement market that will have been expanded and repurposed beyond ad-targeting. Them data brokers are about to make bank.

Megaman Battlenetwork baby!
We're close, but I'm looking forward to locally run ai on machines, they can still backup online, but running thinking locally will be great.

Microsoft's AI watching over your shoulder and in the background anything you do that is questionable it creates a report and puts a threat assessment container. What can go wrong gullible people!!!!!!???

Microsoft keynotes are deployed 2-3 years later. Microsoft Copilot is extremely limited, it's not very useable except for work-related task… it's extremely expensive for what it gives… all other AI are better at this point. 😑😑

Trusted merchants 😂 essentially creating a system which will exclude businesses unless they pay Microsoft or these companies making AI to be included in these ai searches

I hope they can design an AI bot that looks like your loved one — someone who has passed away or someone you deeply care about — so it feels like you're talking to a real person, even though it's just an AI.
