The kind of stones song recording breakdown we've been wanting for 50 years

Amazing to get this insight. What I’ve learned is that Mick is really a very competent rhythm guitarist, he just doesn’t need to show it much playing live with Ronnie and Keith behind him. And Keith is pretty good on the bass too.

This is simply an incredible album! There are no skips on this as all the songs captured are perfectly arranged and in order. Wonder production. I saw them on their VooDoo Lounge tour (another great album) and would to see them play live again!

BEST VIDEO on YouTube right now – just plain FASCINATNG!! This is EPIC. What you learn in 16 minutes is more than any week long tutorial on recording. The info, the joy, the craft; everything is so cool. We gotta get more of this from this album, it's an incredible accomplishment! 🎸

No matter what anybody says, about Mick Jagger, he is the #1 Reason why The Rolling Stones have continued doing what they are doing. And that isn't a bad thing where lots of bands, 20 to 50 Years their junior, cant play Live without Backing Tracks.
I cant imagine life without The Rolling Stones making Music. They were a part of my youth, as they are for many, and are still part of it.
Rock On!

I can't imagine an old-school Stones fan liking this album.
I'm not talking about the songs themselves, it's how it's produced. It's a jumble of sound. I miss clarity.
Jagger is overbearing in most of the songs, lots of screaming, little nuance.
I really don't understand what is so special about Andrew Watt.
Don't get me wrong; I've love the band The Rolling Stones my whole life.
I'm glad they're still enjoying it, but musically The Stones haven't been interesting for a long time.

Mick não é somente cantor e compositor, é um cara super inteligente e líder, conseguiu esse longevidade com Stones e nós agradecemos!

I can totally see now exactly why the Stones enjoy working with producer Andrew Watt…! Great video.

In Japan, A YouTuber who pretend to be critics are making review-like comments emphasizing that the previous work was pitch-corrected, but you should watch this video at least once. He probably don't care that much about this band anyway.

I love how they're doing a lot of press for this album. I love seeing them interviewed. Love these guys. Who else has put out this much good music over this long of a span of time? This isn't an "oldies" act. There's no one who has kept the show on the road this long.

Interesting to watch this. I do not like how the song starts so repetitively, but it gets better if one can make it through the start.

wish the production kept the clarity but stayed more raw n loud.

Excellent analysis, so informative. What a pleasure it is for an old-time fan like myself to see Mick speaking so openly about the music, and Andrew's influence on getting the best of the boys. Thank you so much!

This is SO great!! The magic of how a song is made revealed in a peek behind the curtain. A rare TREAT indeed!!
I love videos of folks sitting at 500 channel mixing decks working the sliders.

Mick is a bit like….we were training this move all summer so when the defender kisks the ball we all move forward and attak from the left side to leave them all off side and land da ball into the net….simple as that….

Every rockstar from Elvis, Lennon, Lemmy and Cobain are dead, rock culture in the mainstream is dead, charlie is dead, the queens dead, but mick and keith and the Stones are still rolling !

Good songs, good production, but very commerical polished and too busy mixing (for my taste, obviously)

Great way of sharing all of the components that make a great Stone’s album!
So many little pieces including Keith’s riffs and Ronnie’s guitar parts that are part of the Stones sound that we all love so much!

I have a little theory about James Cameron's Avatar*: namely, that Dr. Grace Augustine—in her Avatar body—could wake up in the final scene of the next movie. It would be perfect. It would be so cool. Please send this to James Cameron as an idea from Irene, a huge fan of the *Avatar saga.
