In high school when Black Sabbath was released; It was a revelation. Sat in my friend's basement with his brothers and their friends and listened to the album over and over….a little scared, because it felt sacrilegious, satanic almost, but I could not tear away from the sound. Our parents were appalled. We were in love. Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne.

I was the best of the best, able to shut down, control, manipulate; all basic human instincts towards one goal: The completion of my mission. But the effects of committing extreme violence on other human beings are biological and physiological. That's the price of being a warrior.

sabbath never hit me very hard in the 70s … I knew of iron man & paranoid, I liked them. saw em on tv once. … For me it was KISS that blew me away. They were exactly what I wanted to see & hear. Loved every single song till the 1980.

I was in second grade when my much older sister handed me the first Sabbath record for Christmas.
I'll never forget looking at the cover & being scared.
Then when I put the first song on I was really scared, but it changed my musical tastes to being drawn to minor chords for the rest of my life.
All the other little girls in school were into David Cassidy, but I had zero interest.
To this day the opening of that record NEVER gets old.

I watched a show about him recently where he was in a really bad way after spinal surgery, Sharon was crying because he couldn’t tour anymore, because that was what he did, it was what he loved and made him feel alive. Ozzy even said “I have to get healthy, I can’t do anything else, I’m not good at anything else. There’s places I need to go and people I need to see in the crowd.” I’m so happy he got to play in his home city that final time, he truly was complete at that point.

    Matthew 16:26
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
