It's all about ego or not wanting someone else to out shine you but also lars and James the first two members at the start why argue now Lars looked like he was 12 years old on his first world tour slow to mature I'm assuming but he took them to the top relentless.

I remember waiting years for that record. I fully understood the loss of Cliff but after buying and listening to the Garage Days Re-Revisted and thinking, "shit, this could still work!". Plus I was a fan of the bass on Doomsday For The Deceiver. Buying & listening to Justice, I knew there was something missing, something big but being a young guitarist I was thrilled with the neo-classical guitars & songwriting but there was something that still held me back from being really happy about it. The bass and the mix were it and still are. I was venturing into hardcore & crossover so The Black Album meant nothing to me so it's all too bad. Taking nothing away from people that enjoyed The Black Album cause music is personal and all the more power to you if you liked it.

This album sounds like a old transistor radio – pocket sized. It sucks bad sonic ally – it's fucking stupid what they did to the final mix. I'd like to know what Bob Rock said about it. You go from Justice mid range to the full spectrum of the black album. The drums sound like a kid who is miking up his drum set for the very first time.

Amazing how people love to bang on Lars. He cant write, he cant play, he has no real talent. Its a wonder how they becme the best band in the world. No Lars – no Metallica.

The album Is, Was and Will forever be a masterpiece…
The guitars are so heavy with the drums together create this dry, huge assaulting sound ….
They wouldnt have just dropped the bass sound to affront Jason,, this was a conscious decision to create a never before sound that Justice is now infamous for….
The And Justice for Jason mixes simply do not sound as good…

The rock band KIX did an AWESOME remix of their album titled Blow My Fuse and the new mix is incredibly badass its far better sounding than the original…remixes can be amazing

Damn…I could told you that long time ago….because lars and James didn't won't Jason to play on that album because of cliff burton who passed away in 86….they was not over cliff death..but when Bob Rock came in on the black album..it was totally different….Bob was all about selling millions and millions of albums…and Bob took control of everything and put Jason on the map for Metallica…because you got to understand…back on and justice tour…James was drunk and told Jason before they hit the stage….he told Jason…you will never be cliff. And walked away…

This might be a dumb question I don't understand the technical side of the business but can someone go in there now and raise the base and see what the album sounds like then that would be interesting

Who fucking cares anymore….best metallica album…and I was lucky to see them on the justice tour and bass was loud as hell….also…all this shit about bass…maybe I'm the only human that heat bass lines??
