It's a TV show, artists can make what they want. Censorship is lame.

You would rather a show was not made? This is a show for entertainment, not a documentary on Native Americans. Being insular helps nobody. Hiding your culture only helps those who would prefer the culture went away. First and foremost it is a show for television, that is paying the bills and employing all the Native and non-Native cast and crew. After you make it interesting to keep it on the air year after yeare, then you work on making it pretty authentic. It IS still fiction so it does not have to be perfect.

Yup she’s right , about that , some traditional ceremonial things shouldn’t be shown , with evil witchcraft deals .. but all they see is $$$$$$$ … my friend got let fired from being the language consultant because the talent or actors weren’t trying there best to get it right .. but she’s right tho ..

Thank you for sharing this. I've been eager to hear an opinion from within the community, and hearing Melanie makes me think of times I've felt similarly seeing my religion shown on screen, and how uncomfortable I felt that it was considered entertainment material in the first place.
