Again, the soundtrack to my youth. I was excited to see where the band would go after Fish’s departure and I was delighted with their direction with h. A thoroughly beautiful album.

Hi Barry. Wow. Quite ahead of release date. Nice. Still not entirely sold about the different artwork…. but wow… the contents. I pre ordered it. Why stop at a good thing. Love these reissues from Marillion almost as much as the Tull ones. Speaking of Tull. What happened to the Broadsword and the Rest.. Broadsword and the Beast was supposed to have come out last summer. Hmm. Oh well at least we have these and new Tull. Something tells me that they may extend this reissue campaign. Thanks for the exquisite concise review and unboxing. Expect nothing less from this great channel.

Disappointed that they didnt carry over the cover properly. Blech to this new look. Also find it annoying that a set supposedly a snapshot of that moment gets filled out by a more recent live show. I might still be persuaded to buy because I bought all the others, plus the including of the Stoke Row docu is a strong plus.

Couldn't agree with you more about the 'post-Marbles' era. I often opine that the last decent music from Marillion faded along with the bells of its final track, 'Neverland'. I love 'Seasons End', but I did always wonder where the apostrophe went … unless it is not the end of a season or seasons, but that seasons do, in fact, come to an end.

I received mine today. It is definitely the best remix of the Hogarth albums. Pete's bass is so well defined and you can really appreciate why he is regarded as a highly 'musical' bass player. I'm not going to beat about the bush – the new artwork, in my opinion, is absolutely atrocious and however it got the green light I'll never know. Maybe the artwork isn't as important to some people as it is to me and, of course, it is subjective but I feel it lets down what is otherwise an incredible boxset.

I kind of love how h started out as a glamorous sort of addition to the group and then slowly eased into the shabby hippy chic that has always been so expertly carried off by the boys in the band. I'm half teasing of course, and this is a brilliant album and I thought so at the time; I was equally taken aback as probably you were by HiE, but then very much positively impressed with with their bounce-back on Brave and AoS. The rest is history, as they say ….

I have this set on pre-order. Agree on the slightly murky sound on this album and others at the time. I think the title track is one of the most brilliant but tragic songs of all time. Thank you for the unboxing video!

Mine should be here any day now. Will be interested to hear the difference, perhaps like Holidays In Eden, which blew me away! Reading some comment below, I quite agree some might not appreciate the bright orange colour…

Mine arrived today – absolutely loving it and about to watch the documentary.

I was at both the Rock Steady gig and the Weekend last year, so this one's quite special for me 😀

Great album, be interested in the 5.1 surround sound version.
Just heard your promo on Progzilla, thought I was in the wrong place for a moment 😅

Might pick this one up, looks nice.
One of the first CDS I bought was Uninvted Guest. There is a cool bonus track on there 'Bell in The Sea'?
    Can't remember now I'm getting on a bit😉

I absolutely love this album but this package is awful. Terrible new cover and a cd concert from last year instead of one from the actual Seasons End tour makes this a non essential purchase for me even though I have all the other deluxe editions. Glad you're unboxing it instead of me and thanks for the usual great content!

I do not have anything from post Fish era. Not even for free. Here they have the kind of exciting and never revisited sounds of Hooks in you, but at the end of the day, if you want to hear Foreigner sounding music, better hear…. Foreigner, for Marillion are no more from this point on.

I agree. A lot of late '80s and early '90s albums are quite murky-sounding. I think it was an over-reliance on reverb, and perhaps a too-early adoption of digital recording technology. One of my favourite albums from that era, Extreme's "Pornograffitti" poor production makes it amost impossible to appreciate the great songs. Sorry, I went off on a tandem.
