    This is why netizens in China should never have access to a VPN! This is not the first time I have heard about this!     This situation is somewhat reminiscent of all those times people kept reposting a news story about a dead teenage girl (Kseniya Ignatyeva, usually anglicized as "Xenia") with a photo of Angela Nikolau.
    Ignatyeva was a real person and the story was true (sadly), but Nikolau is still very much alive and was even on the news herself recently for climbing the second tallest tower in the world.
    But that story with Nikolau's photo attached still occasionally appears in "Top 10 Selfie Deaths" videos to this day.
