Man charged in Walmart stabbing has bond raised to $1 million after courtroom gesture
Bradford Gille, the man charged in the Walmart stabbing incident, returned to a Grand Traverse County courtroom Wednesday afternoon via Zoom.
His appearance comes two days after his bond was set at $100,000 cash surety Monday.
During that hearing, Gille appeared to make a finger gun hand gesture to the camera, prompting Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg to request that his bond be raised or revoked.
During Wednesdays hearing in front of a different judge, Gille’s bond was raised to $1 million.
Also ordered on Wednesday, by Hon. Judge Michael Stepka, 86th District Court, if Gille is released on bond he must be on a GPS tether and have a no contact order for the victims and their families.
“I think the victims need to be assured that he’s not gonna get out of jail. And the public needs to be assured too that he’s not gonna be in the community and putting them in fear of another such event that happened last Saturday at Walmart,” according to Judge Stepka.
The court also ordered a competency evaluation for Gille.
During the hearing, Gille’s video feed from the jail was interrupted.
We were told by the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office that Gille damaged the camera that was sending the video feed to the courtroom.
The Sheriff’s Office said corrections officers intervened.

The family wasn't going to pay a dollar to get him out no matter what the amount was. They've had enough and you can't blame them
