It’s not 5 D-chess. That’s a patriarchal term. It’s very simple. Run people with solutions for the voters. Stop looking for a handful of donors so men and sit around and talk about how hard they work and how successful they are smoking, stinky cigars, and chasing young women

I've been a voter since 1996. And in every single presidential election – except 2008 – the narrative from the Democrats has been "you have to vote for us because those guys are really really bad and they're going to take away your rights!" (Ironically the GOP has said the same thing, albeit in a different tone). We're always told we have to accept a crappy centrist/center-right candidate like Kerry, HRC, or Biden because the Democrats have to attract "moderates", so we can't afford a leftist candidate like Sanders or Howard Dean (back in 2004 when he ran as a populist).

But in 2008 Obama ran as a progressive (didn't quite govern as one…). Look at how badly he defeated McCain in that election, and McCain was the moderate "political maverick" choice from the GOP. Obama got 365 electoral votes and won by almost 10 million in the popular vote. It was a landslide. He won by giving people hope, and promising a better future – "hope and change". The American people are more left-leaning than the conventional wisdom suggests. When you talk to people about the actual issues, without the context of party, they lean left. Talk about affordability, corporate corruption, election reform, fixing the broken healthcare system, and everyone's suddenly Bernie Sanders.

And don't get me started on the handwringing about how we can't have a socdem run because "ermagerd, they'll be called socialist!" That's fucking happening anyway! Trump calls everyone a communist; I've even seem Trumpists calling Bush Jr one. It doesn't matter, and if they're going to call you a socialist anyway, then lean into it!

The lesson I take from all of this is: give people something to vote FOR, not something to vote AGAINST. Give people hope, offer actual fixes to fundamental problems that affect everyone. Not more handwringing about socialism or tonedeaf "the economy is doing well, actually" nonsense. Don't tell us we must vote for a shitty candidate because the other candidate is shittier.

Sarah McBride nailed it. I registered Independent a year ago. Completely fed up with purity tests, spin, gaslighting, and intra/inter-party assholery. I vote on issues & policies. I am nobody’s base. Full stop. Practice additive politics. Have real & respectful debates to find real solutions to real issues.

How about letting other parties on the ballot so Americans have more choice? How about some electoral reform? How about a system of proportional representation where the interests of all Americans can be heard? How about a government that has to work together to get anything done instead of the divisive parties you have today?

What people want is politicians like Bernie Sanders, not more corrupt Democrats catering to special interest groups.

Don't know if I can watch this just based on the title. Democrats should absolutely be pissed off. Never be nice to conservatives. They are fully protecting violent fascism and trumps pdfile history. You can't be cruel enough to these monsters. Stop capitulating to natsis.

36:08 i'm sorry but no, I will be cutting people off for things like that, it's not acceptable. I don't have to keep being friends with someone after they say something disgusting about my other friends' race, gender, sexuality, etc. I am not here to fucking babysit a grown adult who knows right from wrong. I had to cut my best friend off recently after she went on an unhinged racist rant that targeted so many different people INCLUDING MY OWN RACE and it really sucked to hear that. I can't just see her as my friend again like that

Dudes…🤦🏻‍♂️… The actions of this fascist government are not designed to simply allow themselves to be, voted out.

From WI, very well aware of the gerrymandering and such.

Y'all are failing to truly grasp the actions being taken… while clutching onto the belief, if I just ignore reality until 26/28, we can vote ourselves out of this…

Ladies, remove head from hole in sand, then realize they've a greater chance to repeal the 19th than you do to vote yourself out of this.

    Go.

The crazy thing is that the patriarchy isn’t even good for men they’re pushing for this, but it causes them extreme harm and it’s not good for men so for them to push it means that they’re just uneducated

TRUMP SPIT IN THE FACE OF GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) VETERANS
Maybe there could have been a better time and place than the day of the Marine Corps 250th Birthday and the day before Veterans Day to bring in one of the former leaders of Al-Qaeda to the White House so that DJT could brag on what a great guy Al-Sharaa is.
The same Al-Qaeda organization involved in the 911 attack.
The same individual that the US Government had a ten-million-dollar bounty on in the past.

Rep McBride nailed it. Living through this administration is deja vu for me. I grew up around these hateful, spiteful, extremist Christo-fascists. Now the whole country is experiencing what southerners have experienced for centuries.

my take away for these wins is that social media and technology aren't everything.
Pound the pavement and interact with the people, don't put all your trust in some ap or QR code and expect "if you build it, they will come." They don't come, you have to go to them.

I really like Sarah McBride, but I have a bit of a bone to pick regarding being "welcoming" to those still on the journey on some issues. I believe that on some issues, such as bodily autonomy, there simply is no compromising. Once you are accepting of anti-choice "Democrats," you are basically stating that people with the ability to become pregnant are not entitled to determine what will be done with their own bodies. If anyone does not have bodily autonomy, no one is free.

Some of Dems' biggest strengths are also some of their biggest disadvantages. They aren't a personality cult and they don't put identity politics over principles. Those are both good things but it does make it harder to put up a united front.

The search for perfection is all very well
But to go looking for heaven is to live here in hell…
